In the begining there was Charlie Chuckle and he begot ''Chatterweb'' and all was good. And the garden did flourish with joy but the seeds of dispute did challenge this haven. Jill Murphy and her ever present watchers did strive to keep this Eden full of sun but the sinful serpent of the VH and his temptations of the coloured circles became too mighty and the kin of the opinionator were caste aside until they sought refuge in the arms of Andy, from the clan of the Mack who, in his divine power brought forth ''www.opinionators.co.uk''.
And how we flocked to its gates as suppliants crying declarations of regret and looking for absolution... and news of our missing loved ones, none so missed as the highly sainted Trampus, whose passing brought forth a deluge of disciples. And the Mack was glad his garden was begining to prosper, but he and his watchers including I, the tingly and wonderful Glorificus began to have hearts full of woe as the children of Opinionating did wrestle in the dirt and question the existance of many a thing.
This dark time did pass and although vast swathes of the brethren did not remain loyal, the garden remained a place where any soul could visit, even those who were cursed with the will to take the laws of the Opinionating to the extreme. Why in this paradise even Americans are seen as equal and even the most splendiferous Jim of the 29th line does quoth words until he is sated.
And nine months have passed since the new dawn and although the most godly Mack has passed on his power to the benevolent Eve of Wiggglypuff and I have ceased to be a watcher, the garden is good. There is fruit for all be it, the nectar of friendship or the strange addiction of watching words link to infinity and beyond as brought by the most gracious Sue Magee.
And here are the laws of the garden, wish you to enter our warm realm of threads. Threads are the golden lines twixt which we speak, they can be both dangerous and delicious when they begin to unravel and so the watchers must be steadfast and true in their actions. O! How I lament my lack of patience and humility.
* To herald your presence and recieve a hearty welcome give unto the ''New members'' thread.
* Be that you wish to pledge your troth of love without the ears of the trees telling the wild birds of gossip you may wish to dispatch a ''private message'' or ''PM'' from your bosom.
* If you want to live an a life of virtue you should caste your eyes upon the ''Forum Guidelines'' sent down from the mountain by our forebearers.
* Be laughter your choice, sit down on the sweet lucious grass a while and behold the ''Other Stuff'' and ''Entertainment'' threads, which glisten with kinship and a rainbow of songs to hear and singe alongside the most misunderstood men upon this good Earth.
* If you feel great spleen towards the kingdoms of Dooyoo and Ciao your screams of torment can be quelled in the cavernous depths of the ''Ciao'' and ''Dooyoo''threads, whereupon you may be met with humour, honesty and answers.
* Be that your mind is still ill at ease with the world of Opinionating you may rest a while in the soft bosom of the ''Opinion Sites In General'' thread, where many a man can lose his mind if he doth tarry too long.
And this garden will soon be tested by the sins of the flesh and our greedy livers full of the grapes of Bacchus as the time of reckoning in Londinium on the twenty third day of the fourth month in the year of our Lord Jesus two thousand and five score fast approaches.
