Opinionators is one of many forum style websites that are out there at the moment along with Ciaozone

What is this forum?

This forum is a public place for discussion and debate.
It is a place were people can chat about issues that concern or interest them.
It is a place for humour and meeting new people.

This forum is not a place to bicker, argue or be abusive towards other members.

So what is opinionators?

Opinionators is a website for primarily constructed for members of ciao and dooyoo as a place to let off steam. Discuss all things dooyoo, ciao or otherwise related.

What is the site like?

For those of you who remember chatterweb and have seen ciaozone it is somewhere in between.
For those of you who don't the main body of the site is set out in the form of a table. Within this table are several categories.
Categories are as follows:

Site Information. Which is general used for site announcements or requests by members.

New Members. Announce your arrival to all and sundry.

Opinion Sites in General. Anything people want to comment, moan, discuss generally is posted here. Recent topics include should naming people in ops occur and Ciao or Dooyoo?

Ciao.co.uk. All things ciao are discussed here. Recent topics include the Community Points system, E ratings and Challenge Idol 2004.

Dooyoo.co.uk. Talk about anything Dooyoo related. Dooyoo love it, hate it, never heard of it (sorry about the pun!).

Entertainment. Read a good book, seen a good film, listened to great music. Share your experience here.

Other Stuff. Want to talk about anything at all. Be it other si
tes, big brother or what you had for tea (although don't expect many replies!) post your views here.

Within each category are the threads or topics currently being debated.

Oh aye yeah (getting ahead of myself). Registration is straightforward with the usual username selection and password and a confirmation email to activate your account.

My Account?

After registration you will have access to your profile. In here you can personalise your posts by giving yourself an avatar (piccy next to your messages). This is easily done as there is a vast selection just a click away in the gallery in opinionators. You can if you so wish upload your avatar from another site if the ones on opinionators don't do it for you.
In your profile you can also add your own signature to go below posts. This can be your ciao page (for those who need the reads LOL!) or a website address or a quote of your choice it is up to you.
For those who like a bit of privacy there is the obligatory private message book accessible from the main page.

Posting?

Posting is easy. Click on the category you are interested in on the main page, select the topic that interests you and click reply to post your own message. Messages can be personalised with smileys/emoticons if you want and to ensure you get your point across it is possible to quote other members posts using the quote button and cut and paste.
Why not start your own topic. Click on new topic (in the right area!) and choose a title for your topic. You could even add a poll such as is this review crap. Yes, no, don't care etc. This is all easy to do even for a forum novice like myself.

Why opinionators and not another forum?

Well for me the speed of the site is much better than any other for
um. Pages load quickly and there are few errors as of yet. The main advantage for me over ciaozone is the ability to go to the latest post on a topic by a click of a button. This function really works properly on ciaozone and as such on a long thread can be a pain navigating to page 12 or whatever.
Also the site is an active one unlike ciaozone whose site administrator has gone AWOL opinionators seems to have a strong Admin and moderator presence. This means the site can develop and move on according to need and suggestions can be made without falling on absent ears.
The final advantage for me is it is purely a forum. The site as such is very easy to navigate, uncluttered by downloads, spiel and games etc so if it is debate, conversation and discussion you want this is the place to be.
Apparently there is a chatroom too but I have yet to experience it so am unable to comment.

Any disadvantages?

Like any site in its infancy it?s not perfect. Some could say there are a lack of smileys/emoticons (not me but some would!).
However, the main disadvantage is the lack of membership at the moment. This can lead to threads petering out due to lack of variety of opinion but since you are all off to join NOW this won't be a problem anymore!
