“ Category: Online Surveys „
I created an account with OpinionOutpost around August this year purely for something to do during my downtime. You complete surveys for which you get points; once you have 50 "opinion points" you can cash them in. This is a relatively small 'minimum points' barrier, in comparison to other sites, so you do not have to wait AGES to cash out. There is also a range of options for you to choose how you cash your points in, including vouchers for various websites. I chose PayPal payment and 50 points is £2.50. Thus far, I have made just over £5 (no, it's not a fortune but hey! money's money, right?) The only drawback to speak of is that the surveys are sometimes few and far between and you may get a few questions into a survey and be 'screened out' if you are not the 'type' of person they were looking for. Therefore, it may take a while to build up to 50 points - you just have to be patient!! Overall though, very impressed :)
On the plus side:
- If you actually manage to be accepted for a survey, then the rewards themselves are good compared to other survey sites.
- they offer paypal as a payment option as well as a low threshold for redemption ( £2.50).
- According to their website the payments take between 1-4 hours to be sent to papyal ( Though qs I have earned nothing so far I can't say whether that is the case.
- They offer a referral bonus of £1 per person who joins, but as I haven't referred anyone I cant confirm this.
On the negative side:
- Not many surveys, and the ones I've had so far I've been screened out all of them!(see below)
- No reward for joining.
- No reward for completing your profile, unlike other sites.
I signed up for opinion outpost at the end of November and since then I haven't been eligible for a single survey except one - where you have to install a piece of software onto you PC that monitors your internet habits for a year. Crapware slowing down my pc for the sake of 1 pound? I don't think so! That said, I will keep trying out for surveys and if anything changes for the better, I will update this review!
What is opinion outpost?
It is a paid survey website. It has a low minimal payout/redemption of £2.50 directly into your paypal account, which I have found to be great compared to other survey websites for example YouGov the minimal redemption is £50 so it seems a never ending journey to get there. So far with opinion outpost I have had £7.50. This consisted of only 3 surveys (which were no longer than 20 minutes each) and referring friends which you get 20 points for which is equal to £1.
Why else do I like this website?
The layout is simple and the surveys are an average length and they pay good money per survey. They pay at least 20 points = £1 or 40 points = £2 per survey.
However the only thing to be careful with is that if you try and find it via google there are two websites for opinion outpost, there is a UK site with a red background and a US site with a tanned, cowboy type background. So make sure you sign up with the right one.
Here is a link for the UK website, registration is quite quick and easy:
In my opinion this is a great site despite only getting a survey every 2 weeks.
I recently joined this survey panel, I think it is pretty new, and seemed to be worthwhile. The minimum age required to join is 18, and you have to live in the UK. Membership is limited to one per household.
The layout of the website is pretty simple. Against the reddish maroon background, there are a number of tabs that you can select, such as Dashboard (for members), Join, FAQS, About Us, Contact etc.
These areas are extremely easy to access, and are well laid out, in a very clear manner, with some help titles at the side as well.
Upon signing up, you have to confirm by email, and then fill in a short profile survey about a range of topics to help sort out surveys appropriate for you.
Surveys are somewhat infrequent. Upon signing up, I got no surveys in the first week, and two on the second; each offered around 20 points per completion. They were easy to complete and take around 15 minutes, but each survey is preceded by some general questions, which include your age, gender, annual salary, job sector etc... which is somewhat tedious.
However, the surveys are fun to fill out, and the topics are relevant. Of the surveys I received since signing up, they were interactive, and movie clips were shown which make the experience much more enjoyable.
The site also offers occasional product trials, but I am yet to get one...
Each referral (requires sign up and one survey complete) is worth 20 points (=£1), whilst surveys mostly offer around 20 points. This is an appropriate amount, although only JUST.
Minimum redemption is 50 points (= £2.50) and can be paid directly to your Paypal account, which is very reasonable. The low redemption rate means you can get some cash quite quickly upon signing up.
I have found this extremely easy to cash out, and my Paypal is slowly increasing in funds I can spend on eBay :D
I would highly recommend Opinion Outpost. Despite their infrequent surveys, they pay out appropriately, and with the low redemption rate, you can get even a little bit of cash quite quickly. The surveys are easy to do and mostly enjoyable, despite the tedious screening out questions at the beginning of each. Try it out for yourself and see!
