Advantages: Good Amount of Surveys, Great Rewards with Low Scrren Out
Disadvantages: None From Me Really
I have been a member of opinion world now for roughly 6 months, after reading a review about it and thinking it might be worth a go. (Thanks Aylawarner :P)
In the last year, I have joined various survey sites in my never ending quest (and now addiction) of online moneymaking schemes which will obviously lead to me earning millions. There are very few survey sites in my opinion that pay you well for your time and do so without screening you out and generally annoying the pants off you.
On to Opinion World...
Signing up
--------------
I signed up as I said, after reading a few glowing reviews on here. The website is easy to locate and signing up is really simple. The usual procedure of filling out an email address, name etc is required.
Something unique that I quite like about Opinion World is the fact that once you have entered your details, you are assigned a user ID (username) and Code (Password). These are allocated by Opinion World and you cannot change them. These are essentially your log in details for your account. I like this as there is no forgetting your password, and security wise it keeps your account accessible by you only. I'm sure most people could work out that my username is "chugglebunny" most places, leaving only my password to be hacked. This random allocation of unchangeable numbers and letters does give a higher security which I appreciate.
The Website / My Account
---------------------------------
Once set up with your account, there are a few screener questions to be filled out. These require you to give details on things such as your household, occupation, marital status, decision making level and other aspects that will help Opinion World determine if you are right for certain surveys. You do not have to fill all of the required questions out, but of course, the more you do, the more likely you are to qualify for more surveys. There is a handy tab under the "my account" section of the website that allows you to see what parts of your profile you have completed, what % is filled in and edit and make any changes should your circumstances change.
The website itself is simple with a nice non offending orange and white theme. The tabs are pretty clear, although at the moment as a few things have changed in the last few months, as I will explain a bit further down, there are a few sections of the website that they are tweaking to go with the new rules etc. This is mainly the "My Rewards" section; however you can find all details on what money you have made and what surveys you have taken under the "My Survey History" and "Claim My Rewards" pages which will have all the information you were looking for anyway.
Emails / Survey Frequency and Survey Subjects
------------------------------------------------- --------------
Opinion World gets their surveys to their members via email. You can see on the website which surveys are ready to be completed and the status of them (either open or closed) but there is no link to them on there. I am absolutely fine with this as I check my emails regularly enough and do not have to log on to the website etc to take part.
On the website you can however (under the "My Profile" tab) specify how often you would like to receive surveys from Opinion World; this can be anything from daily to monthly. I am down for daily and mostly do receive an email daily, occasionally it will even be 2 a day.
The emails are clear and have the same format for every invitation. Your Code and ID are on the bottom of every invitation and by clicking the "take me there" button, you are accepting the survey and forwarded to Opinion World, or their partners surveys with no need to log in.
The surveys themselves are usually extremely well laid out and easy to follow, most will have a percentage bar showing you how far through it you are. I have had question on a vast majority of subjects, from cars and shopping habits, to celebrities and insurance. I enjoy the advertising / marketing ones best. They tend to show you a TV advert (so flash player is a must on these) or a potential new product. After viewing the advert or reading the marketing bumf, you are asked opinions on what you thought, if you would be interested and that sort of thing. I can honestly say (with the exception of Onepoll of the shear speed and ease of clicking) that Opinion Worlds surveys are the most enjoyable I have completed.
Rewards / Length of Surveys / Being "Screening Out"
------------------------------------------------- ------------------
All survey invitations will clearly say on the email how long they will take to fill out and show your reward clearly also. I have been a member since April and have never had a survey that states it will last longer than 30 minutes that I can recall. I also find that these times tend to be a worst case scenario and most are done in less than the specified time. Most average about 15-20 minutes and will only really take 10 if you are doing them uninterrupted and fully concentrated.
Now, the bane of all online survey participants lives, being screened out. I will not lie, it DOES happen with Opinion World, but I can hand on my heart say it is more infrequently than other site and happens very early on so no real time is wasted. The profile seems to do a great job of making sure that it is less often. I would estimate that I do not qualify for one in 4 or 5 of the surveys. Which sounds like a high percentage, but the screen out will happen after you have entered your ages and area and usually nothing else, so it really isn't that bad. Add the frequency of the surveys and it is easy to dismiss this aspect and there will be a survey you qualify for along very soon.
Now arguably the most important part, the rewards. Opinion World has a good rate of rewards for their surveys. Either the survey will be for an instant win game (which is a scratch card at the end which will reveal how many entries into a prize draw you have received) an opportunity to donate to Charity (which at the end of the survey you can nominate one of 3 charities for Opinion World to make a small donation to, (this changes regularly as the target amounts for each organisation are met)) or a cash incentive.
I do not fill out the instant win or charity surveys, firstly because I give a lot to my own chosen charities in my own time and secondly because you get both of these options at the end of the cash surveys anyway. After completing the cash surveys you can choose to donate it to charity or not and also get a number of entries into the prize draw.
Opinion World used to pay £1 per survey which after a few weeks would be paid directly into a PayPal account set up on your profile. They have however now changed this to a points system. Each cash survey is for 100 points and will be added to your account, at the still equivalent of £1. Only change now being that to cash out, your account must reach 1000 points to receive £10 to your PayPal account.
I have no trouble with this at all as the surveys frequency means that you are not waiting too long to reach this. Below as an example I have noted of the amount I have received in the last week.
19th - 100 Points
20th - 100 Points
21st - 100 Points
21st - 100 Points
25th - 100 Points
26th - 100 Points
With a possibility of £6 up for grabs I have made £3. A few screen outs and one that closed quickly over the weekend that I did not get to in time. Not bad going.
I cannot comment on the payment system since it changed to points as I have not cashed out yet (£1 to go!) but when it was a straight £1 to PayPal per survey I always received the correct amount promptly and when I was told I would. So I know they pay!
To Conclude
----------------
To sum up, I love this site. It's simple to sign up and use. I like the code and ID way of identifying me. The surveys are fun and usually interesting and reward a decent amount for your time (no 10p for 45 minutes here).
Anyone who partakes in survey sites or even those who do not and are considering it, I would suggest Opinion World fully as a good place to start or join to add to your collection of money making sites.
They pay and they pay well, for frequent surveys, obviously the amount of surveys I receive is based on my own personal situation and it may vary from each individual based on all your contributing factors, But even if you only get half the amount I do, it's still a grade above the likes of Ciao surveys (bad incentives), Onepoll (stupid high payout level) and Lightspeed (really infrequent) and who knows you may even qualify for double or triple the amount I do.
...So a full hearted recommendation from this bunny. 5 Stars.
Thanks for reading :)
Summary: I'm off to check my emails for the day....I want that £1 I need to cash out!
