Advantages: Some fascinating and interesting stuff!
Disadvantages: None
I have already reviewed my top ten favourite websites so I thought that I'd share five more interesting sites with you.
1..www.oldbaileyonline.org .. This fascinating website contains a fully searchable edition of texts detailing nearly 200,000 criminal trials held at London's central criminal court (The Old Bailey) from 1674-1913. Search by crime committed or sentence received, see how the 'old' justice system dealt with these criminals and the punishments dealt out to them. Fascinating!!
2..www.howstuffworks.com .. This brilliant website will inform you of how things actually work. Just like it says on the can. Categories include adventure, animals, auto, communication, computer, electronics, entertainment, food, geography, health, history, home and garden, money, people and science. Clicking on any of the tabs will reveal thousands of items of interest with full details of how they are made, what they actually do and often include short videos or animations to explain things more easily.
3.. www.rcdb.com .. This entertaining website relates to all things roller coaster, because it is a roller coaster database. Revealing such facts as the roller coasters name, its location, when it was opened, speed, height and length. Having found the roller coaster you are interested in, then you can view them in superb full colour photographs. Wonderful!
4.. www.camcentral.com .. This great site allows you to search for cams either by category or by location. There are some really fascinating web cam views from around the world including shark cams, volcano cams and pyramid cams. In fact, there is probably a cam for any subject or topic that you can think about!
5.. www.truthorfiction.com .. This site allows you to find out whether there is any truth (or not) in any rumour or urban legend that you may have heard. For example, there was a rumour 'going round' which said that if you was at an ATM machine and found yourself in some sort of danger then, by entering your PIN number backwards, an automatic plea for help would be sent to the police and they would respond to the ATM machine in question. The rumour goes on to say that most people do not know about it! Well to find out if this is a truth, or simply just a fiction, go to the website and find out!!
Summary: Five more entertaining websites to view.
