Everyone seems to have a website so I thought I would slowly work on building myself one. There?s quite a lot of sites that offer free web space but what I needed was someone or something to teach me how to get started. Things like html I know what they mean but do I know how they work. I, set about finding a site to help when I cam across pageresouce.com. It was thank fully exactly what I was looking for. It provided free web development tutorials and contained lots of information-exactly what I needed. I quickly added the site to favourite just in case somehow I lost the site address. I have only visited it a few times and already my general computing knowledge has increased vastly. Just by reading I have picked so much up. There are so many tutorials to chose from. Learn everything about html or if you want some information on Java script to add extra?s to your web site. There is also a really good section on section which features articles on the various aspects of web design including quick-loading pages, promotion, advertising, e-mail issues, site maintenance. There are also guest articles from other webmasters and developers who have knowledge in these areas. There was quite of information on the site that I didn?t understand but don?t let that put you off because there?s a lot of things that you will. If you start with the easier tutorial, things that you have some prior knowledge on then it may make things easier. The site is really well organised, you can click on the tutorials you want to follow. There is even a very ?Help? section that could be a good place to start. It lays out the aims of the site etc. You can also customise your own site and submit projects and you can even get qualified people to help you with web design, programming or you can simply read articles which can help with your web design. At the moment there is an interesting articles on how to select the right colours for your site
by Scott Pamatat. The site also contains sponsored links about personal web pages. Some of the links are really good and you can get some really good deals and there?s links to free graphics which you can add to your web site. I found the site really useful it contains a lot of useful information on web pages and offers some good tutorials to help you advanced your skills to aid you info on building a better web page.

- 24/03/02 There are quite a few sites like this now (HTML Goodies, Webmonkey, Davesite), aimed at webmasters. It looks as though I'll be adding another one to my favourites list. |
