paltalk.comNewest Review: ... members that you have set up as friends are also surfing. This allows you to call them and start either a text, voice or video session with them. Like ICQ you do need your friends to be using the software to initialise a chat but the program comes with the facility to e-mail an invite to them and updates your 'friends' list when they join. So what does it offer? Well, as I have already mentioned you can text, voice or video conference with friends either singly or in a group. It allows you to set up your own chat rooms which can be either public (allowing anyone to join) or private which can only be joined by invitation. You can ... more |

Another excellent program which I was surprised to see had only a few other opinions written about it. So I have decided that I should speak out in favour of this excellent internet chat site. Pal talk is a free download available, strangely enough, from paltalk.com, it takes moments to download as it is a mere 411Kb in file size. Installation is simple and straight forward and it nestles comfortably on your task bar. Paltalk is similar in being to ICQ however it is far easier to get to grips with and get up and running. Like most programs of this type you pick a user ID and register then, when you are on-line, it will tell you when any other paltalk ... Read the complete review

For a start, not all chat rooms will allow you to create a private room, in which you can chat to your heart's content with any or all of your friends. The room is private, in that you have to invite your guests to join you, or they will not be able to enter the room ( invitation only if you will). Paltalk also has any number of public chat rooms that you can join. Voice chat IS supported by Paltalk, but only it seems on a one to one basis in the public rooms. Although I think multi person ... I love to talk - ask anyone. And now I can talk away for free on so many web sites. My favourite is www.paltalk.com. A short download and you are ready to go. They have chat for new users (to get you acustomed to speaking to your PC) and an amazing tech chat forum. Why pay exorbitant rates to Microsoft when a computer nerd in the USA will talk you through your annoying Windows problems for free! This site is at its best around midnight in the USA (6-8am UK time) when (it seems) all the bored sufing dudes are keen to help their limey cousins out of a fix :-) ... Read the complete review
