Sadly the time has come when I am now decided to cut my losses on my dear little Alfa and get a new (new to me!) car. I have a couple of cars in mind and have been amazed at how the prices vary between dealers so I decided to do a little bit of research myself!

First things first I wanted to know how much my car was worth now and came across this website in a general search. You can search all popular cars from 1989 onwards. All you need to do is select your car's make and model from the drop down menu and select the year and version etc and you will be given a list of prices:

Original price
Franchised dealer
Independant dealer
Private good
Private poor
Part exchange

I was horrified to see how much my car had dropped in value so take a deep breath before you click that mouse button!

This site is not only great for getting used car values there are also reviews on many popular cars. Once you have selected the car from the list of manufacturers you will be given a review on the car and an overall star rating out of five. The star rating is calculated on individual ratings on the following categories:

Driving and performance
Comfort
Safety and reliability
Buying and selling
Costs

If you click on any of the above heading you will be given more detailed information about them and even emmisions and road tax costs.

There are also other sections on this site including cars for sale and general motoring advice.

Overall I would say this really is a one stop shop for all the advice you need when buying and selling a used car. The site is really easy to navigate and there is loads of great information to help you with your decisions. Well, I am a woman and I can be a bit indecisive at times!!
