Advantages: impartial advice, clear and easy to use

Disadvantages: I found none.

So you want to buy a new car, well maybe a second hand one where do you turn for advice? Are your friends car buffs?

I was considering what to buy when I asked a friend. Although he knows his cars he told me to buy a Parker’s Guide for advice.

As I am an internet addict I decided to search on the web and low and behold I found Parker’s Online. I was amazed at what it had to offer me.

The first thing I did was to see what cars I could choose. I clicked on the button saying choosing and selected Help Me Choose, and it did. It asked me a few easy questions like how much I want to spend, what features are important to me and what type of car I want and a short while later it gave me a list of cars to choose from. I then looked more closely at the cars of interest, what different models are available and then at the reviews.

The reviews cover the value of the car, the cost of running it, its reliability, what it is like to drive, performance, comfort, image, safety and security. It gives impartial and useful advice in each of these sections as well as a star rating. It then covers price new and used and its good and bad points. I found this to be a very useful section.

You can then go to the pricing section which will let you calculate what to expect for your old car depending on age, mileage, and condition and how much to pay for another car using the same criterion.

Parker’s is not just for you if you are buying a car it is also useful if you own a car and are interested in insurance, warranties mot's and how to sell it. It also gives access to useful legal advice and many other things car owners are interested in.

The site is clear and easy to navigate. It is a must if you are looking to buy a car. I will refer to it again whenever I am car hunting and selling.
