There?s quite a few good mobile tune downloading sites but unfortunately most of them are pretty slow. I was really pleased when a I heard about this site from a friend.
Phoneringsong.com is a very good site for ringtones, phone accessories and even PC accessories. It encourages people to purchase mobile accessories from their store so the site remains free.

What is phoneringsong.com?
It is a UK-based independent web site that offers free ring tones for Nokia mobile phones as well as mobile phone accessories for most makes and models of phone. As well as the current chart/dance tunes, they try to get the more obscure stuff, tunes that you probably won't find on any other site. I was really impressed by the range of tunes, songs, they had on offer. Click on the letter of the alphabet your artist is and download the tune.

How does it work?
Some Nokia phones have a built-in Composer in them and through a series of key presses, you can input a tune to have as your ring-tone. phoneringsong.com lists what keys to press, in what order, to get particular tunes. This means that ring tones are not sent by SMS.

Compatibility
Although in terms of accessories most makes of mobile phone are catered for. The ring tones on this site are only compatible with Nokia phones.
The Nokia 3000 series (3210, 3310, 3330 and 3390. NOT the 3360 though!) have a ring tone Composer on them and they are the phones that the site is primarily designed for.

The site is updated every 10-14 days. The last time it was updated was 27th November. You can join their mailing list so you are informed about any new tunes on the site.
At the moment the site is free with revenue coming through advertising and commission-based affiliation schemes. If you need any help then you can send them an email to webmaster@phoneringsong.com. However, do not email them for a code to a song because they will not email you back.

I have downloaded a
few tunes onto my Nokia mobile but I would like it if I could download the same for my Motorola V50 but without the composer pad you can not. Typing in the codes is easy and not that time consuming. Navigation is fast and the site loads up quickly.

On first impression it looks like a very basic site but once your have a browse it, it is very good. Pity that it is limited to Nokia mobiles but they are thinking on expansion.
