“ online poker. „
I've been playing poker for about 10 years now, originally starting of playing live rather than online. I, like many other people, was reluctant to step into the world of online poker for a number of reasons. Greater difficulty 'reading' players, more cavalier gaming styles, lack of real interaction and potential for huge losses!
After trying a couple of other online poker sites such as PokerStars, I started seeing adverts for a new 3D poker experience from PKR. I was intrigued by it so signed up and haven't looked back!
Signing up is simple and only takes a few minutes. You enter your email address; choose a password and a PKR nickname. You can then deposit an amount, if any, into your PKR account to allow you to play for real money. Deposits and withdrawals can also be made at any point by going through the PKR website. Being an American website, all amounts are displayed in US Dollars but are converted to your own currency when making a deposit or withdrawal. Once you are in you have the opportunity to make a custom avatar for yourself. It's a really good step up from older online poker sites where you have just a picture representing you. It's simple to use and you really can make a life like version of yourself! Your avatar is customisable at any point going forward but some clothes cost points to unlock. I'll explain how you get these points shortly.
Once you have created your avatar you enter the 'lobby'. This is where all the games are listed to allow you to choose a game to join. There are 2 areas you can search in, practice tables which are free, and real money games which as you can probably guess, is where you play for real money.
There are a number of poker types available to play including Omaha, Draw and Hold-Em. Most games are either Non Limit or Limit Hold-Em.
PKR hold a number of tournaments every hour and entry fees vary dependant on the prizes. There are freeroll games that cost $0 to enter going all the way up to tournaments which cost over £500 to enter. The bigger the entrance fee, the bigger the prize.
There are also 'sit and go' games which are constantly running. They generally contain up to 10 players at a time are a free to enter as long as there is a seat available at your chosen table. 'Sit and go' games have blinds ranging from $0.02/$0.04 on the smaller tables, all the way up to the bigger table with blinds of $50/$100 and above. The blind level you play at is completely up to you.
All the time you are playing on PKR, you are building up a collection of FPP's - Frequent Player Points. These are the points that can subsequently be used to access a range of areas in PKR. They can be used to unlock new clothes features for your avatar, or they can even be used to enter some money paying tournaments, they a great little bonus.
Overall, PKR is well laid out, easy to navigate and most of all - fun. Don't get me wrong, it'll never be as good as playing live, but it's difficult to see how online poker could get any better than what PKR has managed.
I can't recommend PKR enough to everyone who has even the slightest interest in poker. Even if you don't want to commit any money to it, it's easy to play for free even if you want to get some practice in.
PKR is a completely new and exciting way of playing online poker, PKR is the first site to introduce 3D poker for online players and play for money.
You are able to customise yor avatar on PKR so that you can look good on the poker tables ;) you start off by having the standard shirts and trousers and sunglasses etc. however you are able to unlock more interesting items by earning points from playing poker.
--Range of cash games--
There is not a lot of higher stakes games for the high stakes players however there is always a table available for the regular stakes tables around the clock.
--Range of tournaments--
Tournaments range from freerolls, to a $530 buy in tournament as to where you are able to play for tens of thousands of dollars. There are many tournaments running daily, however the tournaments that run don't get anywhere near the amount of players you would find playing on larger sites like Pokerstars. Another good addition to PKR is the TV tournaments, you are able to play some of the higher buy in tournaments and cash games and get on TV as they show PKR TV on sky at times and online :)
It can be hard for some computers to run PKR however with the introduction of PKR Lite(a simpler and easier to run version of PKR) it makes it runable on any computer. The detail and variety of different settings is very good and ranges from Monte Carlo casino to a small house game.
PKR is good for freerolls as they have many available to any player that has joined the site for free and would like to play for some free money, the scheduled tournaments can take some time and be hard to cash in, however if you make a deep run there is some free money there for the taking.
There are also 10 cent giveaway sng's available as to where you are able to build a bankroll from nothing and the top two out of 10 in these sng's get $0.06 and $0.04 for 1st and 2nd.
Overall a very good site if you want to play poker for fun and enjoy playing some 3D poker, i know i enjoy playing for some free money and enjoying the scenery while i do it :)
PKR.com is a poker site which offers players the unique experience of playing with a 3D avatar from a third or first person perspective as a game of Texas Hold 'Em poker progresses. It is unique to the poker market in that it is possible to simulate players reactions and actions as the hands get dealt, even down to looking at your cards.
The system requirements of the download aren't particularly demanding either; there is even an option to play in detail if your laptop or computer cannot handle the workload of handling 3D graphics and networking.
Registration too is simple and easy to understand. You don't even have to put in your bank details or credit card details until you are prepared to deposit money to play with. Depositing money is by no means a necessity though, with many "freeroll" tournaments provided for players to win small amounts of cash. This cash can then be used as buy ins for other games meaning that it is theoretically possible to make money from the site from absolutely nothing!
Don't expect this to be an easy ride however, as there are many players out there who are ready to take your money away. The community typically takes poker very seriously and although it is possible to get a decent conversation out of the rooms it is very clear that everybody there is there to play poker, not to mess around.
In conclusion if you haven't tried the game yet and you have used other poker sites then I highly recommend that you do so as it is one of the best around. Make sure that you have a working knowledge of how to play poker before you join though as others will quickly get frustrated with you.
I have played quite a few online poker sites now and i thought i would give pkr a try as it is the only decent online poker which is in 3d. I have to say is is the best i have ever played. Have you ever been playing poker online and got bored as it was just the same thing over and over well this is tottally different. You can occupy your time when you aren't playing a hand my taunting people using several different emotions which i have to say is the best thing about it.
Also there is a wide range of tournaments to play and you can start with a tournament with as little as $10 to get in. Also you can enter tournaments that are free and if you win give you tickets to enter some bigger tournaments without having to pay a penny.
When you become a member they also have lots of help for people looking for advice and monthly magazine that you can download which gives you even more advice along with interviews from some of the star players of poker.
If you like online poker, this is the game for you. This is the closest thing to playing real poker that is available. The graphics are similar to the sims, but can be played in lower detail if your computer cannot handle it. You can customise your player by choosing his accent, choosing what chip tricks he can do, what he looks like and much more.
When you sit at a table you will see each players personalised poker player and the chips they have available. While you are sat down at a table you can interact with the other players by using a set of pre-programmed speech, facial, and animated gestures; such as hello, laughing, shrugging and many more.
If you have not previously put money on PKR and want to sign up, they will match how much money you put on 100%. This seems great, but there is a catch; you have to earn PKR points by betting a certain amount of money within 60 days. This is what most poker sites do; so don't hold it against PKR.
There are lots of competitions available, and when you first sign up, they will give you 5 entries to daily $250 freerolls and one entry into the weekly $1000 freeroll. Also, you get given 1500 PKR points, which can be used to enter freerolls, customise your character and buy items from the PKR store.
There are a lot of poker sites out there, but this is one of the best and it comes highly recommended from me.
Pkr is an online Texas Hold'em poker site in which you can play for real or play money.
PKR is unique in a way that it is all 3D game play. When at the the poker poker table the players interact well with their surroundings and everything looks genuinely good.
You can customise your avatar by what clothes and acessories that they wear, as well as tricks you can do with your chips. however if you do not deposit real money (for which you get PKR points for) you will have a very limited selection. You are able to choose from a list of about 30 different things your charachter to say and the action the do, also you can have 1 of 5 different moods in which your charachter will act or say the things different.
There is more than just Texas hold'em to play as well. You can play Omaha hold'em as well a deal or no deal all in 3D. However these have never taken my fancy.
There are freeroll tournaments which anyone can play as well as play money tournaments from speed to heads up, all great fun to play on PKR and have kept me occupied for up to 4 hours in 1 tournament. However if thats too long for you there all smaller tournaments, in which a new one comes up every time 1 is full so there is no real waiting.
Overall i believe PKR to be one of the best, if not the best, online poker sites. Its fun and sometimes quite exiting. it feels more real than any other site!
