I recently joined plenty of fish after a friend had recommended it - having had a few great dates with men from the site.

It's 100% free and has a huge amount of subscribers, which is great but also means that a lot of the members aren't that serious about dating and may just be doing it "for a laugh".

It's easy to complete your profile and upload pictures, you can also take comprehensive compatibility tests that match you to other members who are suited to your personality.

When you sign up for the site it asks you what you are "looking for", this can be anything from friendship to a long term relationship, and also has the option of "hang out" or an "intimate encounter" if you are into that sort of thing :) In your preferences you can filter out people you don't want to have contact from, this can include members who have messaged those requesting "intimate encounters", which gets rid of those who may say they are looking for a relationship, but are actually after something else!

A slightly annoying thing about the site is that it automatically deletes messages you've received after a month, I can't find a way to change this.

I have used this site for a couple of weeks and haven't had much luck to be honest, even though I'm quite attractive (if I do say so myself! hehe) and took some time to create a thoughtful profile. I have had a lot of sleazy messages from men, and have had some nice ones from others, though have not managed to get a date with anyone yet. It seems a lot of people are interested in looking at your profile and chatting online, but when it comes down to actually meeting, they either can't be bothered or are a bit scared! I suppose they haven't made the commitment of paying for a subscription so may not be serious about dating at all.

Give this site a try if you're single and looking for a date, but have fun and don't take it too seriously, have no expectations, and don't let it bruise your ego if you don't have any success!
