THE OFFICIAL PRESTON NORTH END WEBSITE
www.pnefc.net
WHO IS IT FOR ?
Essential for any North End fan. Particularly good for those exiled whites who don’t live in Preston and have no other way of getting info on the club. There is also streaming live audio of commentary of matches for those who can’t go to North End or listen to the radio commentary. It is also good if you are planning to visit for a match or going to the museum.
WEBCAM
During these last few months I have been missing my regular visits to ‘the shrine’, Deepdale, home of Preston North End, so much that I have found myself logging on to the Preston North End website to view an erection.
No I am not being smutty. It is a webcam of the infamous building site where Birmingham City manager Trevor Francis wanted the penalties to be taken in the play-off final and spat his dummy out, but that is another story. You can log in to see the development of the new stand, which is to be The Alan Kelly Stand (ex North End keeper). North End has a habit of putting people’s faces on the stands. I have sat on Tom Finneys’ face and poor Bill Shankly (the stand I sit on now) has had to cope with a lot of right earache from me from all my shouting. Occasionally, as one witty forum writer put it, it snowed at Deepdale (i.e. camera didn’t work and showed no picture). However, they have since replaced that webcam and pictures are of a good quality. Not the only cam that shows an erection I’m sure (but then I don’t go looking for that kind of cam).
LAYOUT
This is good. There are clear topics, written mainly in the clubs colours, blue and white, simple and effective. There is a scroll index to the left of all the items on the site.
FORUM
If you want to speak to other North End fans or you support another team and want a bit of banter. You don’t have to register on this forum to post
comments. The forum is quite well regulated, but there have been known to be the occasional childish comments, and some abuse mainly at the weekend when there seems to be no one around. I have yet to see a post that has offended me and they do check for racist and abusive language. It has been quite hot in recent months with gossip about Moyes and the Southampton job, but I wasn’t worried I knew he would stay at Preston. The forum during the time had some nice witty banter. He was associated with so many football management jobs these comments started appearing on the forum.
Moyes is the new leader of the opposition (when Willy Hague resigned)
Moyes goes to Old Trafford…

If you have a query about the site, put it on the forum. The Web Editor reads it regularly and has been known to answer many fan comments.
NEWS
This is present on the main page. This is regularly updated news, about several times a day. This is the main stories, football news, and general news and ticket news. It usually keeps you up to date with all stuff relating to North End, but it does tend to go quiet at the weekend, with not so many updates if any. When North End won there play off semi-final this year fans, like me, were frustrated by the fact they didn’t put ticket info for the final up on the site until days later when the match was only a week away. They used to say they were first with the news, but it was quicker getting info from the local paper.
THE TEAM
This is regularly updated with info about the players. This is usually their vital stats, where they tell you their favourite drink is water, (oh yeah like I believe you), food is pasta and their favourite read is The Sun. As well as their pictures and sorry girls there is no Ginola look-alike, there are player performance stats and updated reports on the
ir injuries. There is currently an online diary by crocked, broken-legged striker, Steve Basham, discussing his progress as he tries to get fit and back in the first team.

Y.N.E.
Young North Enders- includes Deepdale Duck’s page. Deepdale Duck is a shadow of his former self.He was not as good as the original. My friend Simon was the original and he put life into those feathers. I attempted to film him once at a game for a documentary, I had permission, but after a while I was told to stop filming, but that’s another story.
Audio Commentary
This is the best thing on the site, bar the erection and the forum (most of the time). Live commentary on all North Ends games, home and away. There were problems with this to begin with, like anything new on this site. I can listen to my games on the radio, or teletext. Have you found how great it is to watch football on teletext, no irritating commentators making you nervous
Football Museum
This is in Preston, if you didn’t know. Haven’t been yet, but if you are considering going check out this link to the site which will tell you all about it.
Conclusion
The only thing wrong with this site is that they don't have goal clips.
This is the most comprehensive North End site on the web .It is the best site on North End I have seen. Pop by and see that there is life beyond the Premiership.
