Disadvantages: asks money from consumer at all times after signing up

After submitting several poems to the site I decided to do an investigation on my own to see why I had been chosen like everyone else I knew as a semi-finalist. It turns out the company is not only a fraud, but what in the literary world is said to be a "Vanity" Press.

Vanity presses feast off the desire to want to be known, want to be published. They victimize the public and any talent out there.

Knowing this AFTER I submitted a downpayment (money my mom lent me because I am in college) to the company for a convention I called up to ask for my money back. I got a rude customer service representitive and she told me that I should call back later.

Not only was I upset, because this was a long distance charge, and there were no toll free numbers (I am in the U.S.) for me to call. I felt that my poetry, however good or bad it was, was being stolen from me and put into a book that I could not afford to purchase.

There is no email address on the site to complain to, and there is no way to contact the company without spending my hard-earned cash. I deserve the right to have my poetry back, to help restore my sanity from dealing with this company.

I reccomend to all who are interested in this site to treat this company as any other business with flase claims and advertising. The company does not give the writer dreams for a future in writing, in fact it has stolen a piece of me that will be difficult to repair.

I do not trust this company, and feel that I have been a semi-finalist in a heartless and fraudelent act of the American capitalistic market. This company should be shut down and should not be allowed to operate, victimizing other writers, or writer-wannabes.
