Premium Review priceline.co.uk: Pay 2 star Stay 4 star anywhere (536 words)

My name is Rachel and I'm a priceline-a-holic. Priceline-the site where you pick your own price works wonderfully well for me. I've saved hundreds of pounds in a variety of destinations-some of which I'll list further down. My expeience of this site is mainly with hotels so I'll be concentrating of these. The site is very well laid out. It lists normal hotel agency type pricing but also offers the "Name your own price" option. Most cities are offered and the larger ones offer several localities (zones) to choose from. You select your city, zone and star rating -add your price.....and your card payment details. No second ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Great way to save money on hotels if you don't mind a gamble (498 words)

Whilst priceline does allow you to make flight bookings and normal hotel reservations, I only use it for the "Name Your Own Price" functionality. The way it works is that you pick a city, an area in that city and a star rating. You then offer a price that you would like to pay for a hotel that matches the description. You have no idea of which hotels are available, so this kind of setup isn't for everyone! If your offer is accepted, you get the hotel details, if it's not then you are given the option to change something, like add another area of the city or a lower star rating, then offer again. If you don't want to change anything then ...  Read the complete review

Whilst Annabella Marr may be the mother of Amanda's mother, Necessity is certainly the mother of bold experimentation. Allow me, if you will, to explain! Amanda's grandparents are about to celebrate 60 years of marriage and have invited us to join them in this happy occasion. There's a problem, though. They live in Aberdeenshire (Scotland) and we live in Kent (England). It's a long way to go for a few days. I promised Amanda I'd look into the possibilities and visited the GNER web site. This rail company has a fantastic offer on at present, whereby you can go anywhere on their network for UKP 20.00. I looked up the times and selected ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A couple of tips (299 words)

I used Priceline in April to purchase tickets on US Airways from London to Toronto in August - got them for £332 each (inclusing taxes). The cheapest scheduled flights I could find elsewhere was £525 and the price for the same flights the cheapest was around £600. So I think I got a bargain. I agree with most things that everyone else has said about Priceline, so instead of repeating things, I'll offer a couple of tips based on my experience. The very first offer I put in was for £250. As expected, tt was rejected however they came back saying that they could do the flights for £278 + tax. TIP #1: If Priceline come back with this sort of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review priceline.co.uk: As cheap as cheap can be! (808 words)

Yes, you've seen the adverts, the people sitting on each other's laps on the plane, the guy wrestling with the cleaner for the mop, the family trying to get into the wreck of the car instead of the stunning motor they have hired... Well, I'm afraid I have fallen for the advertising gimmics yet again, but I was pleased with what I found! The site is one of the easiest on the net to find and to follow. It's dead simple- www.priceline.co.uk, couldn't be easier to remember. (The fact that I forgot it and had to resort to phoning my mum is neither here nor there!). Anyway, when you get to the site, the first screen you arrive at tells ...  Read the complete review
