Another money making site, another site that will get you rich. NO
Quidco is a cash back site with a difference.
I have used Quidco for the past 18mths and thought I would share my experience
**The Background**
Qudico was though by a few people in England during a cold wet winter day, they wanted to create a cash back site with a difference. They did not want members getting spam emails and they wanted there members to get the maximum cash back each and every time. So Quidco began.
**Joining**
Easy and Straight forward, like most cash back sites it’s a few simply steps and your registered. At the top left hand side of the webpage you will see a button - Join, by hitting that you will then be required to pop in an username, emails address and password. Your email address must be valid as they send you as email to validate your account.
So your done, that email usually comes through instablty, Once your clicked on that you can login and update the rest of your settings (Account) . Under settings you can edit your email address, passwords’ but the most important things is there and that’s the setting for your cash back. Firstly you need to set the minimum level (amount) of cash back you want each month. I have mines set at £150 which means I do not necessarily get cash back each month I only get it when I have sufficient cash back cleared in my account.
**Administration fee**
£5 is what it will cost you per year to have an account with Quidco, They will deduct that from your earnings each and every year. When I first joined I was like, They charge us £5 per year, when they are making stupid amounts of cash of us. Then I done my homework and realised that Quidco are giving there members back all the cash back. Unlike others who maybe only give out 50% of the cash back.
**Getting your money**
Two options here and both options I have tried and tested, but very easy and successful.
BACS - At a cost of 5p per transaction I would certainly recommend this method, money is transferred to your nominated bank account usually on the last working day of each month. I am with HBOS and it takes about 3days to shown in my account. There are ways to check how much was sent - I will cover that shortly.
Paypal - This is the other method available to members, I have tried this method and you do get the payment not a problem and Quidco do not charge for this method. But as I am sure most of you are aware Paypal will charge you for receiving money in to your account. I weighed it up and I would rather pay Quidco 5p for BACS than give pay pal anything.
Ok so you still with me? If you are then I will now go in to the detail of how to make money on this site. Please take onboard you need to be spending money in order to get money back from this site. This is not a site that you get money for nothing.
**Homepage**
In my opinion its very easy to use and eye friendly, you all know what I mean when I say that. Colours are fine and the page is not too busy with information, slogans etc.
Along the top you have the following options -
Settings - Which I have covered above
Earnings - the tab that I check every single day I login to Quidco, under that tab you have detailed table of transactions in order of month, click on the month and it will show you what has tracked and it will show you an approx date when you should expect the payment - Below is a transaction that I completed via Quidco, For people that have never seen this before, all the information is telling you- Date transaction is completed and time, Company with, amount of transaction, cash back, status, payment date
1)09 Feb 2007 21:47:29 Screentrade.co.uk 485.39 120.00 tracked* ~ Apr 2007
2)03 Mar 2007 00:07:50 Fragrance direct 65.47 3.27 validated ~ Apr 2007
3)02 Feb 2007 23:00:00 eBay.co.uk 0.44 0.15 received~ Apr 2007
4)11 Jan 2007 16:05:27 MORE TH>N 0.00 50.00 paid 31 Mar 2007
Above are 4 different transactions that are at different stages,
1- Tracked - Means that the transaction has successfully tracked between Quidco and the retailer
2- Validated - The retailer has confirmed that the transaction did take place and if all is well it should change to paid on the next payment date.
3- Means that Quidco have received the money and are awaiting to send it to you.
4- Paid - Just as it says, you have been paid for that transaction
Next tab along is the payment tab which will show you all the payments you have ever received from Quidco. Next to that you have the option to view any enquires that you have ongoing or which have been resolved.
Favourites - Not an option I use very much, but should you find yourself using the same retailer over and over again it would be worth while adding them to your favourite retailers. Doing this store the retailer under the favourite tab.
**Retailers**
There are some 1397 retailers available on this site to which all offer different amounts of cash back. Some offer percentage and others offer set amounts. You can search for your required retailer using the search facility. I have to add its not always the best. I tend to look down the left hand side and click on the appropriate options to locate the retailer I am looking for. Retailers can be sorted in many ways including A-Z, Highest %, Amount, Newest and now Sure shop.
So you have now chosen your required retailer, what information will you get about the retailer prior to clicking on the link. When you first chose the retailer you want it will tell you a brief statement about the retailer, which you will properly already know. The most important information you want to look at it the Statistics
Tracking Speed
Fast (0 - 13 days,
3 day average)
Tracking Reliability
High (97% tracked,
3% enquiries of which
12% successful so far)
Payment Speed
Medium (2 month avg
That is the information that you want to see, I always check the tracking information and the payment speed.
**Sure shop**
A new and unique programme here, only started last month, it’s a programme that will see the members get even better service from Quidco. Retailers who have signed up to this programmed guarantee that they will solve any enquires within 30 days. There has been incidents in the past that have seen retailers take months to solve enquires, so hopefully this will be the end of that. Not all retails have signed up to this programme. The easy way to tell is you will see a tick that indicates that they are members.
**Tracking**
I am a member of a forum and read that a select few members have problems getting transactions to track, I have been a member of Quidco and others for over 18mths and never had any problems with tracking. I use a programme called “Window Washer” which I run prior to using Quidco, this ensure that my cookies are empty and they new cookies will track fine.
**contacting Quidco**
Possibly the biggest gripe that many members have with Quidco, Once again I have never had any problem when I have needed to contact them. Using the appropriate help features and then selecting the correct link has always worked for me. I emailed yesterday about a transaction and got a response with 4hrs.
**Few Rules**
One Quidco account per person-
Only buy stuff in your name, if your wife/husband wants things, register an account for them.
Don’t abuse any retailer or you will run the risk of your account getting closed.
**My Final Thoughts**
I enjoy using Quidco and love the amount of cash back I make on this site in comparison to many others on the net. I believe that Quidco do offer the most money to there members and it appears to me that Quidco is getting even better. I would like to see an easier way for members to contact staff at Quidco as I feel unless you’re an experienced user then you could be hunting for a needle in a hay stack. The quidblog is a good idea as it allows you to see the latest goings on within the site and you also get to add your thoughts. I especially like the fact that you never get any emails from the site which is great. I would also like to see Quidco add a referral scheme to there site as at present you do not get anything when you refer members.
I hope you enjoyed my review -

- 25/02/08 Nominated, I am a member of quite a few of these sites, they all offer the same in different ways, the main thing is deleting them cookie things. |
|
- 29/08/07 Actually I am not a member, I was getting mixed up with QuidsinUK who do not charge £5. I would not join such a site that charges £5. |
