We all use search engines at some time or other, and a good search engine is hard to find.

The current favourite appears to be ‘Google’ though I often use Infind.com, but more and more I tend to use ‘raging search’.

This is a search engine which has been constructed by the ‘ technical wizards’ from the giant ‘Altavista’ who have ‘culled’ all of the text on over 300 million web pages, making it one of the biggest search engine indexes in existence, and I personally rate it as 5 Star Plus.

Raging search is simple and uncluttered by banners and adverts and it gets the job done !

What’s extra special is that the site is fully customisable to your own particular requirements !

At first glance, the site looks rather ‘sparse’ with just a box to type in your text for the search, but right beside the wee box is the word ‘Customise’

Clicking on the ‘Customise’ button allows you to select from many options including the following !

Specify how you want to see the results of each search :
Design your page layout preferences :
Select your own chosen colour scheme :
In addition, you can specify your own options for doing an ‘Advanced search’

The search speed is very fast and accurate and there are very few ‘dead’ links, as the site is upgraded on an on-going basis.

The site - designers ultimate aim is to create an index of the entire World Wide Web - and all for FREE !
