***Introduction*** If there’s one advantage of longevity on sites like this, it’s that you get to reminisce about old opinions you’ve become very fond of. One of my favourites (even if it was my own work) was a piece I wrote about parenting being the best but hardest job in the world. I originally wrote that back in May 2002 (Hell fire!) and as part of it, I recall referring to online forums where parents could meet up and talk about the multitude of issues that crop up with children. Since then, I’ve stumbled upon a really excellent resource for parents that I’d like to overview in case anyone fancies giving it ago. There really are people out there going through ... I think this is a fantastic site for parents of kids of all ages. The site has advice on practically any subject, all tried and tested by parents just like you and me. I have 5 kids ranging from 8-14 so you can imagine what life can be like sometimes in my house. The best advice that I could give anyone would be don't have 5 kids. Luckily Raising Kids features advice from experts as well as other parents. The feature that interested me most on the site was being a product tester for childrens products. By joining the panel of product testers you receive free products to try out free of charge as long as you let them know what you thought of the ... Read the complete review

I have three children and have been looking for a good site for me as a single parent, for a long time. I found it at raisingkids.co.uk. It's terrific, I had a big problem with my eldest daughter and I found the advice there, exactly what I needed. I only wish I had been able to find it before. The discussion boards are one of my favourite areas and when I asked for help from other parents about potty training I got a whole lot of very useful stuff. Go there NOW -= it's really good. ... The Raisingkids site is the work of Dr Pat Spungin, a senior lecturer in child psychology and mother to three children. Alongside Dr Spungin you will find Dr Sue Morrison an experienced GP with special interest in family medicine and emotional health, with three children of her own. Dr Bernice Krafchik, a professor of Dermatology and Paediatrics; David Swain Senior Paediatric dietitian and Elizabeth Cook former deputy head of a primary school and now a university lecturer. The site went online in February of 2001 and is comprehensive in the extreme. Everything you ever wanted to know, will need to know and some things you perhaps don’t want to know are ... Bringing up three children is not an easy task from day one to forever, I say forever because it is forever. Even when they leave home, you still have to lend them money, listen to their troubles it doesn’t end, but looking back over the years I have had some good times with them, I can also smile about some of the bad times too. When my son was born I had such a shock I can tell you. I was young and thought babies were lovely cute little things all cuddly and smelling of talc. He was a little monster, he wouldn’t sleep he screamed all the time and I sometimes used to look at him and think ‘I don’t like you very much’ ... Read the complete review
