You all know the ‘Readers Digest’, It’s the wee magazine that you see the guy/gal next to you on the train reading each time you open up your Metro and you always wonder what’s so good about what he/she is reading!

The Readers Digest is actually a very well put together and comprehensive magazine and now you can access the on-line site that accompanies it.

When you go on -site you are presented with the front page which gives you access to such items as :
The Online Do It Yourself Manual, where you'll find great projects taken from the mega-selling Reader's Digest Complete DIY Manual.

It looks like a lot of on-site information, but it's actually only a fraction of the 500-page-plus DIY'ers bible which has recently been released as an updated edition.
Anyway, there is more than enough going on in this section to keep you reading till next New Year !

You can also click on various other categories of interest, including:

How to cope with woodwork and shelving, which gives you many handy pointers to achieving the perfect finish, and covers such topics as, Buying second-hand timber, Connecting one cabinet to another, Filling gaps between built-in cupboards and Fitting flaps and catches to a cupboard, just to name a few.

There are also very detailed and comprehensive sections covering Home security, How to approach work on walls, ceilings, floors and stairs and how to cope with those home plumbing jobs that are a mystery to many of us.

There is a daily 'tips' section, today’s one tells you in great detail, how to successfully strip the outer wire from a telephone cable, and there are also links to gardening topics and a very clever and detailed ‘Foodfinder’ category which dishes up recipes for what food you have available.

Best of all, there is a link to the magazine itself that gives you access to many quality articles, as
you would expect from such a respected publication, and there are also all kinds of intelligent links to many other useful related sites and items.

There are many other categories for you to explore on-site, including a super section on genealogy and how to trace your ancestors, and all up I like this site, it is well put together and well laid out with no in your face banners and I reckon you will definitely want to add it to your favourites as I have !
