Cheap - if you're careful (ryanair.com)

It has to be said that ryanair does offer excellent value in terms of the cost of flights. I have bought extremely cheap fares from them including a one way fare to rome from london stansted that was free with no taxes or charges.

That said however, I have rarely flown with ryanair on a flight that has not been delayed. As with all budget airlines, there is no compensation for delay.

Ryanair does also have a disappointing attitude to charging. Yes their flights are cheap, but you have to be quite careful not to end up with additional costs and charges, eg if you check in online and turn up without your boarding card that costs £40, if you want to check in a bag at the airport that you havent paid for online, they double the price to £20.

I have also found ryanair flights to feel a little bit more unsafe also, with more noise and often a much bumpier ride.

Summary: You need to be careful with hidden charges
