Is it a plane or a bus?

Advantages: Cheap flights
Disadvantages: Extras can add up
When I went to Spain recently I was looking for a cheap holiday so I looked to Ryanair for their cheap flights. Their website is easy enough to use allowing you to choose exactly which flight you want and how much luggage to take. The only downside with the luggage is you have to take the same amount out as you bring back - ideally I would have paid for only 15kg on the way out but 20kg on the return flight to allow for things I was going to buy but that wasn't an option.
The website allows various extras, suitcases (if you can get away with hand luggage only then you will save yourself a few pounds), travel insurance, a text confirmation of your flight details. So you really do pay for what you use - if you are someone who opts for all the extras then Ryanair isn't the cheap flight for you, if you just want to get there then Ryanair are the cheap and easy option.
The day before the flight I logged onto Ryanair's website and inputted my passport details which allowed me to print off my boarding pass for the journey out and the return journey. You can only print these 14 days in advance so if you are going on a long trip ensure you have access to a printer at your destination or you will be charged for a boarding pass if they have to print it for you.
The flight itself was like getting on a bus, everyone queueing with their tickets and a free for all when you got onto the plane. Fine for a group of adults but I think if I had children I would be tempted to pay that little bit extra for priority boarding to ensure we could sit together. The seats were a little close together, not a problem for me as i'm only 5'1" but may cause tall people discomfort. There also weren't any pockets on the seat infront which was a little annoying.
If you want to eat or drink anything on the flight be prepared to pay more than shop prices. I think we paid £21 for 3 vodka and lemonades, but you can take your own - they need to be purchased in the airport as you can't take liquids through customs.
The landing was uneventful and it was an easy exit, again like getting off a bus, with cases quickly in the arrivals lounge as it seems they like to turn the flights round pretty quickly. The flight was easy, clean and tidy so I wouldn't be put off using them again.
Summary: If your looking for a cheap flight with no frills, give Ryanair a go
