Well, there is a light at ... more |

Phone call providers are offering quite good deals these days with offers such as free evening and weekend calls or even free unlimited calls to all UK land line numbers starting with 01/02, which keep your phone call bills down to a minimum. Unfortunately most companies these days use those costly '0845/0870' number so when you have to contact their customer services, (which is usually quite often), it sometimes costs you a small fortune just for them to continue to keep you on hold, with a slice of your call allegedly going to the company you're spending hours trying to contact. You know the feeling, you have just spent hundreds of pounds on an item and ... Read the complete review

Say no to 0870 is a website that lists alternative telephone numbers for 0500, 0800, 0808, 0844, 0845, 0870 and 0871 numbers, their aim is to stop you having to pay crazy sums of money just to ring companies. The site has become popular more recently, having been featured in various high profile places, such as money saving expert's forums and on BBC radio 2. It's a very simple to use website, albeit the slightly amateur looking homepage. When you need to dial one of the previously mentioned code numbers, simple go to saynoto0870.com and click 'Search to find an alternative number' at the top, and enter your number. The site will then display ... Read the complete review

I stumbled on this site when searching for a phone number, and it was like a light bulb came on. Over the years this site must have saved my hundreds of pounds when calling non geographic numbers. The impact is lessened a bit now BT have capped the charges to these lines, however I still regularly check for mobile calls. Say No to 0870 is a website devoted to helping you find a geographical phone number as an alternative to the 0870, 0845 etc numbers companies give out. You can search either by company name, or by the given phone number. Results have been good. About 4 out of 5 companies I have tried have had an alternative number on the site. ... I have been a user of www.saynoto0870.co.uk for a number of years now. I would love to work out how much it has saved me and my business, but I would guess it runs into hundreds of pounds. So how does it work. Well for those who are unaware (and there can't be many) 0844,0845,0870,0871 and several other prefixes each give the owner a cut of the call cost. So for example if you phone an 0871 number to speak to Mr Parrot at Tree Top Muse, you could be charged 10p a minute. In return he pays the provider of the 0871 number and keeps a nice cut for himself, so he can buy more bird seed, I guess!! A number of companies who have call centres (as well as ... A perfect website for those of you who do not wish to use 08 numbers (not 0800). They can be expensive when called from either land line or mobile phone, especially if the company you are ringing decides to put you on hold for half an hour or longer. Now you have a choice, with this website you are able to input the company and the telephone number that you are trying to find a substitute for, click the button, and if you're lucky, an alternative number or numbers will come up on the screen. These numbers are not guaranteed to work, but they are useful to try if you will save a small fortune in the long run. most of the equivalent numbers will either be 0800 ... Read the complete review
