scool.co.ukNewest Review: ... started by somebody else who was having the same problem and was reffered to s-cool.co.uk. This site is not a mass of text for you to read through and supposedly learn from. It displays information in short paragraphs or in bullet points which really help you to take it in. The revision is divided into four seperate parts and each encourage you to do something for yourself. The first section, which has been the most helpful to me, contains bullet points of key words and key studies but does not tell you anything about them. This leaves it up to you to do some written work and some thinking about these topics. It does also offer help about ... more |

As an AS psychology student I have had very little success in finding websites suitable to help me revise for the upcoming exams. The websites that I relyed on during GCSE are little help to me now apart from revision for subjects such as General Studies. THis is until I came across a forum started by somebody else who was having the same problem and was reffered to s-cool.co.uk. Well were do I start? This site has got it all, first of all it helped me so much with my recent A-level exams, especially the biology revision notes, they were detailed, but not over detailed and only gave you the information that you need in simple ways that is easy to understand. It incorporates diagrams into the notes to break the text up and you are allowed t print it out. Which is a lot of help so you don't have your parents shouting at you to get off the internet! Then secondly I found the discussion boards really helpful and fun! There are subject groups to ask other students or even teachers for some help on topics that you do not understand and also ... Ok, well maybe not made easy - but its made easier!! As im sure all students are aware, there are hundreds upon thousands of revision sites around at the moment. Some are great, some are not so great. However s-cool is definitely among the great one's! So what makes a revision site great and some others not so great? Well it all comes down to some basic things: The site should, preferably, cover more than one levels of education. For example there are many many sites around that only do SATS, GCSE, AS-level, A-level without combining all of them. Well s-cool is one in the minority that covers from GCSE upto A-level. ... Ok I lied, school is not cool. To be honest it's boring, tedious and mind-numbingly dull. The same goes for revision. Who wants to be stuck in the house revising, when you could be doing more interesting things. Having said all this, the fact is that without good grades, you stand no chance what so ever, of going to college, or university, and pursing your dream career. Basically what I'm saying is that revision, is a must if you want to make the grade. We should consider ourselves lucky, you know, out parents had to be content with pouring over hard-backed textbooks. But we have access to the web, which can actually make our revision that ... It's hard to find any good sites to help with A-level revision and s-cool goes some way to solving that problem. I have found the information they provide and the notes to be extremely useful in my Business Studies revision. They cover most of the course in just the amount of detail you need in the last weeks before an exam. There are one or two complaints I have though. Firstly their tests are too long for my liking. I know it's more like the exam, but I prefer a quick one or two word answer that's either right or wrong, to their mini-essay style questions. Secondly, their range of subjects isn't anything amazing. They only ... Read the complete review
