Sky Sports Website

As a keen sports fan, I couldn't wish for a better sports news and results site than the main web offering from Sky Sports.

I am a subscriber to Sky Digital's television service, and also subscribe to their sports channels, but anyone with an internet connection can also keep up to date with all the latest news and views on sport via Sky's comprehensive website at:

http://www.sky.com/sports/home/

All major sports are covered, including:

Football
Cricket
Rugby Union
Rugby League
Tennis
Golf
Athletics
Boxing
Motor Sport
U.S. Sports
Basketball
Ice Hockey
Sailing
Snooker

I tend to use the football section the most, and also the cricket section during the summer. However, I have been known to check out most of the other sections too, at one time or another, and have usually found the details that I have been looking for, and more besides.

If you're an armchair football fan, or if your team is playing some distance away, you can also obtain live streaming audio from the Saturday Football Service that keeps you up to date with all the goals as they go in. Pundits such as Rodney Marsh, Frank McLintoch and George Best always make this into a highly entertaining way to spend an afternoon if you are unable to get to the match.

Other features include video and audio reports, competitions, polls, what the papers say, and also a handy guide to the sport that's coming up on Sky.

I would recommend that anyone who has not yet visited this site puts any pre-conceived ideas they have of Rupert Murdoch and his media empire behind them, and takes a look at Sky's comprehensive Sports offering on the net.

I'm not too sure that I totally trust Murdoch, but I agree with you on this one.
