I have used various seach engines looking for flights and holiday's over the years and I had never heard of skyscanner until a friend of mine at work mentioned it, so i thought I would chec it out and have found it to be one of the best holiday searchs tools that is available on the net today.

When you log onto skyscanner the whole site looks appealing, it looks rather professional compared to some of the serahc engines that you get, it looks really easy to use and it is not overcrowded with pointless adverts that I am never going to click on. the site itself looks very clean and fresh, the last thing you want when you log onto a site is for it to be busy, with these kind of searches all you want to do is find a cheap flight and this is what this site overs you.

When you first go onto the site, it has a large search option on the front page, in which you enter all the details that you require, departing airport, arrival airport, departure dates , number of passenger and a big search button.

This then scans all the various flights from various tour operators on there database and gives you all the options that are available on your required dates, both one way and return flight, with the times and price per route per way for each flight. Once you have selected a departure flight, it will then display the options available for your return flight from the same tour operator, it then calculates the price of you chosen flight.

If you scroll down the page slightly it will then give you the live price on the tour operators sites and the option to click through to book online. More often than not the site is correct however I have been on a couple of times and the actual tour operator price has dropped slightly which has been a nice surprise.

This site works on commission, it doesn't actually sell anything as such, but is a functional tool that is useful for the many on a daily basis that want to find a cheap flight with a recommended tour operator. For every site that displays skyscanner and is clicks through to a tour operator earns the site an average in between 13p and £1 per click. So ideally if you are in this industry its a link worth having on your site.

I have found my flight this year and thanks to skyscanner I have found one that goes at decent hours at a relatively reasonable price.
