Advantages: clear, colourful and constantly updated
Disadvantages: slight time delay on news updates
skysports.com is my first stop whenever I want to find out the latest score, transfer news or general sports gossip!
My main sport is football and thats what I primarily use it for but skysports.com offers updates on a variety of sports, international and domestic, be it tennis, cricket, rugby, golf, boxing, F1...the list goes on!
For football I use the site to keep myself updated with the latest scores, I can do this by using the "score centre" which provides running commentary of the game (with, of course, a slight time delay from live television) and updates the stats frequently. If I want to find out the latest news they clearly distinguish the new stories by the competition it is relevant to (i.e. champions league or premiership). Another thing I like about the news stories is that they will have relevant links to the story: for instance a story on Jensen Button will provide a link to stats on Brawn and Button himself).
Skysports.com also provides frequently updated video news for the latest interview with a Golfer/manager/driver during a current tournament or there are plenty of photos from around world on the sporting events of the day.
As there are so many sports that they report on, they are clearly shown as tabs on the home page in order of popularity and there's also a 'more sports' icon at the end of the tabs for the rest.
Skysports also run frequent competitions which you could enter to win a sporting related prize (i.e. Wimbledon tickets), I havent entered any of these so I am unable to comment on it. There is also a link to 'skybet' where you can place bets using the odds provided on sporting outcomes.
I really like this site and find it easy to use and navigate around. If you wish to be frequently updated so you are the first to know of sport news then this site is for you. I particularly like the layout, colourful, modern and not too confusing despite a lot going on. Like I said I use it mainly for football but it makes it very easy to drift in between sports and leanr more about sports that you don't know too much about, for instance, I didn't know too much about Tennis until recently and I've since been able to find out about players that interest me and the various competitions in the sport.
Summary: a great site for catching up on your favourite sport or to use if you cant get near the tv!
