Disadvantages: Lots of dross

When I first started to use slicethepie.com it was really good fun and while the earnings were nothing to write home about for anyone with an interest in the music business and finding out about new talent it was a great site and lots of fun. Unfortunately with popularity the site has deteriorated somewhat and now there is a lot of dross on the site and also you have to wade through some truly awful singing in the vain hope of discovering something you like.

The site is a music review site and how it works is that you listen to music and then review it, for this you may get a small payment however to access the higher earnings you do have to put a lot of effort in. There is a huge range of music on the site so it is usually possible to find something in the genre that you like but there is no guarantee of the quality.

Payments build up from 5p a review up to 10p however you do not have to write war and piece instead you need to be concise and balanced in your reviews. YThe idea of the site is to give music bands and singers a platform from which they can build a following and to direct people to their music as well as a way that they can gain some form of financial support to help launch their careers. If you really like a band you can opt to donate your vouchers to them.

The site is easy to navigate and it used to be a lot of fun however often you get loads of dross to listen to and also the number of resubmission requests on the site did become onerous so nowadays it is one I rarely visit.
