I have used the Smoothhound site several times now to find suitable accomodation in which to stay when travelling in this country, and have been extremely satisfied on all occasions. I found the site by accident when searching for a cheap bed and breakfast place, and now regularly use it if I am going to be away from home, even for one night. The site is very easy to access. This is one of the most comprehensive websites that I have ever come across. smoothhound.co.uk claims to be "the UK's best hotel database" and I would have to agree with them. There have been so many occasions when I have been forced to pick a B&B at random out of a telephone directory without any idea of what it'll be like when I get there - and that has led me to end up in some really dreadful accommodation - but no more.
