soccernet.comNewest Review: ... football after the collapse of Setanta, ESPN Soccernet devotes the majority of its web-space to English based football and its news, which is obviously understandable. However there are sections which placate the more European football hungry followers out there, who are on the lookout for the latest news from Spain, Italy and the rest of the continent. Onto the layout of the website, it's a pretty simple and basic design, with standard colours and fonts. This is by no means a negative as most good websites do the simple things effectively. The banners change colours with each changing section; however the basic design, colour a... more |

The ESPN Soccernet website is an ever expanding website that caters towards football followers eager for the latest news. The website is user-friendly and is more than easy to navigate when looking through the various sections such as league tables, latest news and club centric information. Of course what with the new ESPN channel network carrying Premiership football after the collapse of Setanta, ESPN Soccernet devotes the majority of its web-space to English based football and its news, which is obviously understandable. Soccernet.com is a cracking football site and in my opinion one of the best. Were it not for Football365, then this would defnitely be number one, but football365 is my number one. Soccernet is very much a more professional and straight down the line football website, whereas football365 is an often more tongue in cheek, indeed cheeky, site. Soccernet's articles are always excellent. I am writing now however as Phil Ball has taken a six month sabbatical. I needed to know what was happening with my team and follow the other results. Initially the first site that I visited was our very own Sky Sports. However the server was very very slow, probably due to the high usage, as it was a Saturday. Then I did a quick search on Yahoo and ... Read the complete review

Soccernet was previously sponsored and maintained by the Daily Mail newspaper, but about a year ago the running of the site was taken over by ESPN, the giant American sports broadcaster. I initially feared that this would have a detrimental effect on the integrity and reliability of the information on Soccernet, given that US companies tend not to place too much emphasis on football (or should I say soccer?). However, it appears that the opposite is true in this case, as Soccernet has improved in leaps and bounds lately, and is now my first port of call for football news each day. The site is divided into four main sections, all easily accessible by clicking on ... Read the complete review

It has match reports and stats about every game very quickly after the final whistle. The scores are up to date on the latests while the games are being played.
