Ever been impressed by panoramic pictures? Autostitch makes them easy to do! All you have to do is take a series of pictures from more or less the same viewpoint, then open up Autostitch, and it will blend them into a seamless panorama. If you accidentally include one that has nothing to do with the others, it will simply ignore it.
There are other ways to achieve the effect: you could do them manually in a paint program such as Photoshop, by adjusting the colours on each so that they match, then carefully blending at the joins. Or you could do them automatically in Photoshop CS3. I've tried all three routes, and Autostitch is by far the easiest, with the most convincing results. You really can't see the join!
The software is only downloadable as a trial version, as it is designed to be incorporated in other programs, but this is not a problem - as soon as your trial expires, you simply go back to the site and download it again.
I've actually used it for pictures taken on different days, and therefore with different lighting conditions, and it still blends seamlessy. A highly recommended bit of software for anyone who loves playing around with photos or for the professional - I use it for my photo editing business.
Summary: Highly recommended to both beginners and more advanced users
