www.streetmap.co.uk is a site for address searching and map facilities throughout the UK.
You simply type in a post code, telephone code or the latitude/longitude of the place you are looking for, and it provides a map of it. You can zoom in on any part of the map by clicking on the area you want to see in more detail
http://uk.multimap.com/map/places.cgi is a similar site. This site also allows you to look at any part of the world, not just UK, but doesn't go into as much detail.

Summary:
