Sunday league is an excellent online game, which is totally free to play and even if you’re not a football fan, you’ll never get bored of.

I earlier said that it was free to play but that is optional as one of the aims of the game is to earn credits (which is basically in-game money) as with these credits you can train your players, buy new players from the transfer market, enter knockout cups, where if you win, you win more credits. There is even a feature, which is called holiday mode, which manages your team whilst you’re away. Credits can be bought with real money, and you can buy different amount at a time, for example you can buy 12,500 credits for just £9.99, but remember you can just get them for free buy winning cups and games.

Managing your side is sometimes quite challenging, as your players sometimes go AWOL (absent without leave) and you have to totally rethink you’re tactics. And you have to choose the best formations and style of football for the conditions. You are also in charge of all you’re tactics, team management and team layout, also you can choose the team name, kit and near enough everything.

The seasons on Sunday League Football usually last about 47 days, with 30 matches in your division, play-off matches for the promotion places, friendlies, and the knockout cup matches, which are: the beer cup, the super cup and the world cup. Talking about the knockout cups, the beer cup costs 500 credits to enter, with 1500 credits as the first prize and 500 as the second prize. You can get into the super cup for 750 credits and the prizes for that are 4500 credits for the first prize, and 1500 for second. Finally the world cup costs 1000 credits to join, with the prizes being 12000 if you win, and 4000 if your the runner up.

There is also a humorous side of the game, (for example all of the players have funny names like Wilma Legsgrowbach, Adam sapple, Ed Jewcation and Dinah Sore etc.), so it isn’t all just football. And you can play friendlies against your friends, your next opponent or anyone that you like really!

There are lots of different servers which you can play on each one giving away different prizes for being the best manager etc. and these prizes aren’t just credits they give away computer games, mp3 players, digital cameras and even DVD players!!!!!

I personally go on the arsenal server at arsenal.sundayleague.com as I support Arsenal Football Club, but there are also servers for Liverpool, Manchester utd, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle utd, plus many, many more, you don’t have to go on a football server though, you can find all the others servers at www.sundayleague.com.

If you ever need help with the game you can check out the websites help and FAQ sections, or if you just need some handy tips, you could always just take a glance at the forum or one of the unofficial sites like www.sltips.co.uk or any other ones you can find.

You can read all the reports of all your previous matches and other matches so you can see how your friends are doing or how well your opponents are doing.

Another one of the fantastic features on this game is that when you start the game, you don’t start from scratch, right at the bottom of the league, but you take over someone else’s team who have resigned. So if you’re lucky you might end up with a team that is doing really well, or if you’re unlucky you’ll end up with one that is about to be being relegated. When I started the game mine was in the relegation places, but now I have almost got my team out. You can also resign at any time if you really want to (but I don’t know why, trust me you will be addicted!) and then some other lucky soul who has found out about the game will take over you’re team, so they will discover the magic of the one, the only SUNDAY LEAGUE FOOTBALL!

I would give this game 10/10 as I cannot find a single fault with it, and it is by far and away the best managerial game not only on the web, but in the world! It is even better than all four of the Championship Managers, and you have to buy them!!!!!!!!!

p.s. there are also baseball, hockey and music versions of the game if you would rather go on them, but sadly i havent been on the other versions so i couldnt tell you what they are like. (but surely they are not as good as sunday league..... as it is actually impossible!)
