Advantages: your mouse can play at 'mouseover', Not sure as I don't understand the site!
Disadvantages: If I understood the site I might be able to find some
Superbad does super good things with mouseovers on the home page. You can play with the colours and change the little icons below from light to dark. Choose an icon. They are all lettered a-b, a-y, b-b, etc. There isn't anything to tell you what the alphabetical listings are so you just have to take pot luck. I couldn't fathom this lettering system out at all, so I decided to investigate further. Icon a-b ++++++++ This takes you to a selection of blue lines which have black lines moving down the screen among them. I waited a couple of minutes incase this page was actually going to turn out to be something I could put a name to, but, alas, it wasn't. Icon a-y ++++++++ Ooh! Yes! I can identify this. There's a piano keyboard running down the lefthand side, or, on second thoughts, is it part of a badly over-exposed reel of film? On the righthand side there is an outline drawing of what must be four oil-filled radiators. The radiators grow on mouseover. Icon b-b ++++++++ Well, what can I say? This must be deckchair canvas. It's all stripey blue and orange and there's a set of four amber lights on the right. These go on and off on mouseover. Icon b-y ++++++++ Now this one is identifiable. There's globe in black outline and lots of blue ashtrays on the page. It's 'astray world' and when you click on an ashtray you get packet of cigarettes with a pencil drawing on it. Mmm! It's a change from clever little mouseovers I suppose. Icon d-b ++++++++ This takes you to an article on meat eating in USA. The word 'meat' is a link that takes you to a very short black and white film clip that is repeated forwards and backwards every couple of seconds. Icon u-y ++++++++ A curious muscular figure appears. Once again the 'mouseover' technique is used to make his head and arms move
. If your cursor changes to 'a finger pointing' you have found a link on this black and white picture. Some very odd pictures appeared here! There are another ten of these icons to click on. I don't think I had better include them all in this opinion. There's a danger of you all getting completely bored if I do. It suffices to say that they will no doubt uncover more odd web pages from this weird site. There doesn't seem to be a theme here and the only link I could find betwen the pages is the use of mouseovers. Maybe the author learnt how to do this and got carried away. (Or perhaps should be carried away to a 'place of safety'.) This site is totally weird and I still don't know what it is about. If you're the curious type you may want to investigate the other icons on the homepage and see what wonders they reveal. Would I recommend this site to a friend? Well, yes, of course. I waded through it so why shouldn't they? If you do manage to work out what this is all about, please let me know!
