Advantages: Great items for kids in the frenzies

Disadvantages: Double postage cost

SwapitShop is the leading on line swapping & trading community for kids. It is easy to use. It features auctions for all manner of items like books, movies, toys, games and vouchers plus many others. You can bid for items using swapits the sites currency. Members earn Swapits on the site by collecting codes from kids magazines in the latest issues of Jetix, match of the day and totp magazines codes can be found to get extra Swapits. Enter these codes in the 'Swapits codes' box on your account page to claim your Swapits, Also you can collect swapits by visiting featured websites doing teasure hunts, searching for logos and icons for SwapitShop on other sites, by completing on line surveys, by entering competitions or swapping items you no longer require and referring friends to the site.

There is no contact between members and no chat rooms so it is safe to let your kids loose on and you don't need to worry about them. Parental consent is required before you are allowed to submit items or bid on items. The site has Frenzies which are full of new stuff given to SwapitShop by brands to promote something like a new movie or game. Swapitshop are often given great stuff that you cannâEurot get in the shops. The site has star-swaps daily which can be must have items like ipods and wii although I imagine you would need to swap a lot of items to earn enough swapits for these. Or you can bid on items other kids are putting up to swap. I think its a great way of encouraging kids to get rid of their old stuff and save up swapits for the things they want.

The downside to the the site is has lots of advertising on which will influence your kids to want the latest must have items from their favourite TV shows but its no worse than all the ads you get on the kids TV channels anyway. Also you pay double the postage for sending in your items postage is required to send it to swap it shop and you also have to provide the postage for forwarding it to the other member this could work out costly with bulky items and should be considered when kids are putting items up for auction.

After winning a swapit Frenzies I found items would usually arrive with 5 working days but it can be up to around 2 weeks with other items depend on how quickly the other swapit members post the swap out.

Great site for kids to use and would recommend it.
