Advantages: Create forms, polls, surveys, signup sheets in minutes, extremely easy to use
Disadvantages: The Tawala logo stamped on any creations
Tawala is an extremely useful DIY tools website especially handy for beginners in the web design world. I discovered the site by searching for ways to create forms and collect e-mail addresses online for my own websites which I have in development. Tawala describe their site as a wide set of easy to use use tools that you can put to work immediately with absolutely no technical knowledge.
The home page is professional and clean looking and shows four main options to create signup sheets, polls and surveys, automated list builders, an online exam builder and a way to organize a potluck dinner, whatever that may be!
After trying out Tawala for the very first time I must say I was quite impressed by the functionality. I used it to create a form whereby I could collect my users email addresses. The form was extremely simple to create and works effectively. If I access the form through my personal email address then I can view all the email addresses of the people that registered on the list. However, if I go directly to the page in my browser it still shows the list of names of people that registered but doesn't show their email address, which could be seen as a bit of a pitfall. However, it does provide a simple solution and one that is very easy to create.
All polls, surveys, signup sheets or whatever you choose to produce using Tawala do have the Tawala logo stamped on them, though this is a very small price to pay for using the service and is a form of advertising for them. However, the service is more than satisfactory and extremely easy to use and provides some excellent tools for beginners in web design.
Summary: A simple way for beginners in web design to create advanced tools
