Advantages: Not many really maybe quite a good site to use
Disadvantages: expensive, not much stock
Techfocus is an online electrical shop stocking many things from memory cards to Nintendo Wii consoles. They have been around since 2005 and are based in Lincoln in the UK. They are owned and operated by Kinch Electronics Ltd.
Overview
When you first log on to the techfocus website you are met with a big advert right in the middle for the Wii Fit Board as they currently have these in stock, they want a shade over £90 for them though, which I find a bit cheeky as they are supposed to only be £70. It annoys me a bit that companies are allowed to charge whatever they want for things just because they are hard to get hold of, and I feel we as consumers should ignore these companies as they would then have to sell there stock at the correct price. Apart from the Wii Fit Boards there is some information about techfocus, including a promise to post your goods the same day if paid for before 3pm, this is quite a good promise as long as they stick to it as so many companies have a cut off of about 10.30am. On the other hand this could be because they do not have that much business and have plenty of time to get your stuff posted after 3pm.
What The Site Is Like
On the left of the site is a full list of all the different categories of goods they stock, they have skype phones and headsets, consoles including Nintendo Wii and DS Lite, Ipod accessories, memory cards, PC periphials, cables and GPS accessories to name a few things, well to name most really! On the opposite side of the site is a list of popular items that you can view easily and click straight on. Most of the stuff they sell is accessories for electrical goods, not actually the electrical goods themselves, apart from the Nintendo stuff, they have Wii consoles but these are £200!
On the whole I would say the site is quite good in general in that it is easy to get around and it is quite easy to purchase something from them also, however on closer inspection a lot of the stuff they stock is not in stock! Thats right I would say about 50 - 60% of the stuff they have on the site says out of stock so it isn't much use being on there really in my opinion. Also their prices seem to be quite high, not just the Wii Fit Board but most stuff I looked at was a lot dearer than on other sites. So although the site might be easy to use and they guarantee to post your stuff the same day, you will have to pay through the nose for it!! And that is if they actually have it.
Conclusion
Techfocus accept a range of payment methods including all major credit and debit cards and also Paypal, so they make it easy for you to pay their inflated prices also! I don't think I would recomend this site because of the prices and also the fact that they haven't got much in stock, there are loads of websites selling the same sort of stuff as these so I would give them a miss to be honest. I have not ordered anything from them because of these reasons and so I can not comment on their delivery time, or their customer service, I am afraid I did not get this far with them.
Summary: One to steer clear of
