Here’s how to free up some space in your house or hovel. You know that big pile of ‘usually’ out of date phone books, yellow pages, white pages and thomson directories etc, that is cluttering up your living room ? Well just collect them all together, chuck them all out and start using this superb on-line directory of phone books. The site has managed to gather together under one ‘roof’ all, or at least, most of the phone books in the world. This is the Internet's original and most complete index of on-line phone books, with over 400 links to Phone books and phone book directories, Yellow and White Pages and all kinds of Business Directories. There is also E-mail Addresses and Fax Listings from over 170 countries all around the world including UK, Europe, Africa, America and Australia. This really is a massive feat of organisation, and while on-site there is a very useful frequently asked questions guide which should answer most of your queries. Listed among these categories are items and answers to questions such as : How do I search for ? Can I copy these pages ? How do I find fax numbers ? Is there a ‘Reverse’ Search directory (search by number) ? Please help me find my old friends, What sites are listed here ? and, Where can I find ‘old’ phone books ! Like I say, the content on-site really is immense, for instance, clicking on the ‘more resources’ link gives you access to the Inmarsat Ships Directory which is a directory of telephone numbers of ships on the Inmarsat global networks, while the Kompass trade directory contains detailed information on the listed companies. ( note) this one requires free registration to view the results of searches. Clicking on the UK. directories link gives you access to many other links to many other directories including : # PhoneNetUK which is the Official British Telecom White Pa
ges for the UK, and includes both people and businesses. It covers England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man (but not the Channel Islands) # Ask Alex which is a fast and effective listing of businesses in the UK, having some nice map links and other resources. # The UKPhoneBook regarded as the White pages directory for people and businesses in the UK. It has the same basic data as PhoneNetUK but has a nationwide search and more complete addresses, it also has links to maps. There are many more items on site much too numerous to mention and the site is easy to use and well laid out with just a few wee advertising banners, but what do you want for free. Teldir.com proudly claims to find anyone, anywhere in the world, unless of course they are 'ex-directory' by choice ! so what are you waiting for, add this excellent site to your favourites and go fling out your old ‘dog eared‘ phone books ! http://www.teldir.com auldmac

I always thought it was illegal to publish ex-directory no's. It's certainly immoral ! Thanks for the warning.
