Advantages: Free, can win a million
Disadvantages: Need 4 numbers to win, no cookie to remember you.
Many people enter the Bananalotto everyday and look forward to opening the results e-mail to see if they have won. The Daily Draw is very similar to the this and offers you another chance to win your fortune. The Daily Draw uses a different amount of numbers, 64, and you only have to choose 6 from this 64, not 6 and a bonus ball. The prizes are also different and are as follows:- 4 correct numbers - wins £25 5 correct numbers - wins £5,000 All 6 correct - wins £1,000,000 You will notice that there is no mention of a prize for 3 correct numbers, that’s because there isn’t one. This, and the fact that you have 15 more numbers to choose from compared to the Bananalotto, means you probably have less chance of getting a win but any prize you do get will be worthwhile. If you consider you would have to get a 50 pence win every week for a year to get £25 on Bananalotto, a single win anytime during the same period with The Daily Draw will give you the same amount of money. Registering for the draw is done in the usual manner and is very simple. There is the requirement to give some personal details such as name, address, marital status, e-mail address and password. During the registration process you are asked to give your interests by putting a tick in a checkbox of any subject that takes your fancy, such as music, computer games etc. You may receive e-mails containing offers and information about any that you select, so if this is not wanted by you leave all boxes clear. You can always change these selections later from your profile page. The site also uses the profile information to choose the adverts that will be displayed to you when you visit the site and this is one of the ways they manage to keep entry to the draw free. Once your registration has been processed you can enter the draw itself. The procedure is very similar to Bananalotto and when you have made your six selec
tions, you must click on one of the banners to complete your entry. There is a draw every business day at 4PM but you are only allowed one entry per day. Although it isn’t drawn at the weekend you can still enter each day and these entries will count towards the next draw, giving you a better chance of winning. An e-mail will be sent to tell you if you have won or you can check the numbers on The Daily Draw site itself. Unfortunately this site does not automatically recognise you when you go back to it, meaning you must login every time using your e-mail address and password, which is a bit annoying. There is also no facility to remember your lucky numbers but there is an option of clicking the “My last numbers” link which automatically selects the same numbers as your previous entry, so this is just as good if you want to choose the same six every time. If you are worried about this company actually paying out, there is a note on the site saying that the £1 million prize is guaranteed by Lloyds of London and each draw is observed by a reputable set of accountants. As this is another free draw you may as well enter it, just in case you get really lucky and match 5 or 6 numbers. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has actually won on this game and has received payment, so please leave a comment if this applies to you or anyone you know.

- 24/02/01 Mac users please note this site does not IE 5.0 for mac or Netscape 6.0 for mac which effectively means it does not support macs. You do not get this problem with Bananalotto. Otherwise, it looks like a good site. |
