Advantages: free money, fast, clean site, more than cash prizes
Disadvantages: not enough reward for lesser matches
The DailyDraw.com is similar to Bananalotto.co.uk. It's format is akin to the lottery and promises upto one million pounds in prizes. After registering the usual details, you are shown the grid where you select your six numbers (no bonus ball!). You can allow a random selection, choose your last set of numbers and if you aren't happy with those numbers you can start again. After you've selected your numbers, you need to click on a banner. There are usually four to the right, ranging from companies like Webrewards or Ipoints, to Comet to WHSmith or obscure gambling sites. Although we all hate advertising, the range of banners should give you at least one that would interest you. I've signed up to a couple of schemes and visited several sites simply because they've appeared at this point on the site. When you click on the banner, two windows pop up. One is a small window at the very top of your screen telling you that your numbers are being logged for entry into the draw. It lets you know when this is done and you can close it. The second is the site to whom the aforementioned banner belongs. I wouldn't advise closing this TOO quickly, as I think they may have a timer on the page - if you shut the new window you might find yourself having to reenter. It hasn't happened to me personally! Prizes are: Match six numbers and you win £1,000,000 Match five numbers and you win £5,000 Match four numbers and you win ... £25! A big leap between prize amounts!! As well as the above prizes, they also have an "Accumulator" scheme. This was introduced quite a while after the site was first set up as I think they found that the lack of smaller prizes deterred users from returning to their site. The Accumulator logs your numbers over a month, and for every six matches during that month, you receive an entry into a further prize draw. There is no limit on the number of entries - you aren
't restricted to one set of six. IE if you match 12 numbers during that month, you get 2 entries into the prize draw. The current prize is to spend a weekend living as a millionaire - posh hotel, extra posh car (use of) and £250 spending money. You will then receive an email the next day listing the winning numbers and letting you know whether you've won. The site itself is very clean looking, pretty basic (unlike Bananalotto's fancy fussy design, with clear lines and white backgrounds. This doesn't, however, make it look amateur - far from it. As far as functionality goes, it doesn't remember your email address upon log in - not even in a popup menu form. You need to type the whole thing manually every time you log in. It's not a big deal, I know, but I find it a bit annoying. It also doesn't remember your password like Dooyoo does. You cannot set a favourite set of numbers as on Bananalotto - but if you always use the same numbers, you just click the button for re-using your last numbers. The whole site is a lot quicker than it was a couple of months ago. I often had dead image links on pages. They seem to have ironed a lot of the niggles out of the site. Links to contact the staff, edit your details, their privacy policy, prize details etc are very easy to find and pages load in under 20 seconds. It's not graphics laden which is a big help for loading time, but there are relevant images on some pages - the posh car and hotel for example, as well as winners. The winners page is self-explanatory and easy to find. It seems fairly up-to-date. It wasn't present on the site for a long while, and the lack of it deterred me from entering the draw. It's there with bells on now though :> They have a refer-a-friend scheme, as all of these sites do. They will pay you £25,000 if one of your referrals wins the million. Whoopie. You can also sign up for th
eir affiliate program for which you will usually earn 50p per registration - but don't quote me on that as it differs. Lastly, the official company details are in several places on the site. This sort of verifiable info is always reassuring. I tend to go through bouts of playing this type of game. The Daily Draw isn't, to me, one of the most attractive draws simply because of the lack of smaller prizes. Bananalotto offer a lot more in the way of smaller amounts for lesser matches. I play it when I remember to - but that's just me. The odds are in your favour, the more often you play. Good luck!

- 03/07/01 Not a fan of this one, it often stalls on loading and there seem to be a lot more numbers to choose from than on other sites (or maybe that is an optical illusion), great op as per though. |
