Advantages: Gives food to some of the worlds' poorest people., Knowledge that you are doing good.
Disadvantages: None
I stumbbled upon this site earlier this weak and am absolutly amazed that such a site exists. The basic principle goes like this. On the front page of the site there is a button entitled click to give free food. When one clicks this it takes you to a page filled with advetisments (no popups though). These advertisers all then donate money to the site of which some goes to the upkeep of the site (they promise this will be less than 25%) and the rest goes into buying the stated amount of food at the top of the page (currently 1.1 cups of staple food which varies from country to country). The site has an agreement with its advertisers to allow only one free donation per person per day and so clicking lots on the button will not help. Ever since I found this site I have gone to it every day and have encouraged my friends to do the same. By just going to this site once a day and clicking the button one can make a real difference. There are also other ways one can donate through this site. These include buying through their shop (typically donates between 25 and 50 cups of food per purchase) and by become a site member by paying a fee. One thing that I find upsetting about this site is despite the fact it costs the user now money they only recorded 95,604,534 clicks last year which is quite feebile considering how little time it takes. This site also has two sister/brother sites one for saving the rainforest and one to promote the early detection of breast cancer. Both of these work in exactly the same way as this site and are easily accessible from thehungersite.com website. This is a great site and offers a great free way to improve real peoples' lives and so I urge you to spend a few seconds a day to give some free food to some of the worlds' poorest people.

- 26/06/02 Try this site too:
http://www.nspcc .org.uk/donate-4-free/def ault.asp?banid=WWWLOQUAXC OUK
It's similar to the one you mention but is in aid of the NSPCC. Donation can be made daily and the amount donated depends on the current number of sponsors.
