The Train Line is a UK wide website allowing passengers to check train information as well as actually booking tickets in advance for travel. The site isn't associated with one single train company so you get all the options availble to you for the particular route for your journey.

When you first visit the site, it's not the easiest to navigate around. It took me quite a while to get used to getting around it. I also still notice that can the site can be quite error prone, where by you may put an enquiry and the page just times out with an error.

Past these internet issues, the site itself is very useful & a handy resource for all train travellers. You can enter your journey in & also decide whether you want to go via a particular place or just need a direct train and it returns all the options to you. If you like one of them, these can just be booked through the site. Once booked, you just insert the card you paid with at one of the machines at your destination station to collect your tickets.

The thing I like is by booking tickets in advance through the site, you can get some pretty good value tickets. On occasions I've managed to get return tickets from London-Manchester for only £20, & normally these would cost at leadt £60.

Thetrainline is an essential resource for all train travellers & will definetly make your life slightly easier.
