Needed to amend a ticket as the android app is very mis-leading and most tickets require a job centre plus railcard whatever that is, when I immediately phoned to do this I got an Indian call centre! Brilliant! No help at all, I just wanted to book a ticket and end up with the wrong ticket and a £10 charge for cancelling at a greatly increased fare. The moron at the call centre actually laughed at me! My advice - don't use them, rail fares are expensive enough without these idiots.....

They sold me 2 tickets for train for 26th of December 2012 from Edinburgh to London. I was in Edinburgh on holiday with my husband and when we came to the railway station to get back to London the station was closed. I called to the station information centre and they informed me there were no trains on 26th of December. Because of ... Read the complete review

I went for a long weekend away last weekend down to Hastings from London Victoria. I wasn't particularly fussy about the times of the trains, just knew the days I wanted to go. I did a Google search for 'cheap train tickets' and www.thetrainline.com was top of the list. The home page contains a number of offers at the top of ... Read the complete review

I booked a return trip for a family of 4 from London to Salisbury before I left Canada for my vacation. I followed all prompts on thetrainline website and ended up paying over 240GBP. When the train conductor on the return trip checked our tickets, he informed me that I could have paid less than half what I did. He said that thetrainline ... Read the complete review

I booked a ticket for a journey to Manchester from Newcastle. This was after my husband said he couldn't get time off to travel with me by car (his car). I booked the ticket 4 days before I needed it so thought it might be a little cheaper (it was an ok price 4 a first class ticket). Then 2 days before I was due to travel my husband was ... Beware that at the very end of the ticket ordering process they slip a booking charge into the bill. You can buy rail tickets at exactly the same price directly from the train operators without getting hit with this sly and unfair booking charge right at the end of the buying process. Most importantly though, what ever you do ... Read the complete review

I can only say that i would not use thetrainline.com again, because my experience was a nightmare, so much of the information seemed to be incorrect i must of spent in total more than an hour on the phone just to buy 4 simple tickets, and them doing it wrong, wrong fare wrong tickets etc.

I read a review a few days ago from a young student who didn't get much use from her Student railcard. I made a comment about booking early and then thought I'd share my own experiences of booking in advance to save money on train journeys. Many of you know that I often visit my family and London and prices vary from South Wales by some ... Read the complete review

I booked 4 tickets online via the trainline. At the booking stage I requested all the seats to be around one table. It confirmed the outgoing journey seats were seats 33 to 36. On calling First Great Western to discuss the trip I am advised that these seats are not at a table. This was not highlighted at the booking stage ... Read the complete review

I recently bought 4 first-class tickets Taunton - Heathrow on line with Trainline.com, £169 not too bad I thought. What a complete and utter shambles! Even though they were bought 12 weeks from the date of travel in July, there were three tickets sat around a table and one the other end of the carriage. This was even ... Read the complete review

Been trying to get a refund for the last three weeks. Communication is a major problem when dealing with the 'trainline.com' customer services agents. Moving call centres abroad is infuriating from a customers point of view. Clear communication is vital when dealing with issues. I cannot recommend thetrainline.com based on my personal experience.

It can all work ok and until this week it always had for me however when it went wrong their Customer Service call center is the most unhelpful that I have ever experienced and charges 10p for each frustrating minute. Such poor levels of service and customer care had I thought become a thing of the past.

I had the inconvenience, extra expense and embarrassment of being kept at the barrier, over and over, because the travel ticket for the underground that came with my train fare just didn't work. Trainline didn't want to know: 'talk to our underground department'. Never again, especially as I found out that I could have saved 20% on my total rail fare by just buying on the day, from the station.

The tickets are not cheaper at all.Trainline.com is just another outlet for train companies to advertise their full price tickets using abit of shoppers psychology to try and trick people into thinking theyre getting a bargain.Dont fall for their consumer deception. A complete waste of time.

I ordered the tickets on line was a very quick and easy purchase. I collected them at a ticket machine at Forest Hill. Be sure to have your card that you bought the tickets with. As the machine asks you for that rather then the reference number, to be safe have the two at hand.I was happy with my purchase for £11 from East Croydon to Brighton (for a non student) not bad indeed especially with our economical crisis, in general I will be buying again :)
