trainline.com is a brilliant website that you can order, train tickets, book hotel tickets, theatre tickets etc... The slogan on the website says '' Your first stop for train tickets'', well it's certainly my first stop for train tickets but not just for train tickets, for loads of other tickets too like theatre tickets, hotel tickets ... What is it --- An internet train ticket booking software. What it offers--- Cheap(er) train tickets than tickets bought on the day. It does this by buying in bulk and getting a good price and then selling it back to you. When to use it ---- Up to two hours before you travel. Ease of use---- Very ... Read the complete review

The current advertising campaign for the trainline centres massively on how you can gain reduced fares on the site. This is certainly true, but by no means are these the cheapest prices on the net. I used to use this site regularly, and enjoyed great savings booking in advance train tickets as opposed to buying them on the day at the ... Read the complete review

I have been using the Trainline website for some time now. You have to register if you want to buy tickets but not if you just want to find timetable and price information. After you have registered, the Trainline will email you with special offers from time to time. It is a fairly user friendly website that is easy on the eye. It does ... Read the complete review

I've bought tickets everal times using the Trainline I often find it highly frustrating as for some reason my computer often crashes on this site - not sure why but I'm not here to argue about that We bought tickets about 6 months ago so that my partner's son could travel down from Coventry for a week, and boy was it hard. ... thetrainline.com is the easiest and most efficient site to use for booking train tickets! The layout itself is very user friendly, not too clustered as i have found alternative train line sites can look; and has a great colour scheme and logo to give it a professional look. Setting up an account takes only a few minutes and buying ... Read the complete review

i booked two train tickets via the trainline from birmingham new street to oxford. i wanted to reserve a place for 2 bikes but no facility to do this at point of booking. after waiting for tickets to arrive in post and then queing at new street station, found no bike spaces left. phoned trainline who advised that new tickets would need to be purchased with no refund. had to buy two fresh tickets costing me double the advance price and had to accept a much earlier and inconvenient train time. if you are taking a bike on a train do not use trainline.com

If you are like me and prefer to book your travel online rather than over the phone, then this is a great website. Firstly you need to register which is quick and free. When you return to the site you need to log in with your username and password each time and you are taken to a screen asking what you want to do. Select buy tickets and then ... The Trainline is an okay website but one note to people... why buy from them? You can buy tickets for ANY train from ANY of the train operator's website and none of them charge booking fees.
Infact the vast majority simply use a re-branded version of the Trainline website and you are actually charged by the Trainline. So you will find the layout the same and find the same tickets.
However, I recommend National Express East Coast which is their own website and very easy to use.

I have recently used thetrainline.com for the first time to actually book tickets (rather than just look up train times) after continuously seeing the adverts on the TV. I have tried several websites for the same tickets (four adults from Harlow - Ramsgate) and none of them came up with any cheaper prices than those available on the day except the ... Good for researching journeys, though I could have saved £75 if I had booked direct with train operator. They refused to issue a refund or offer any good gesture to a loyal customer. Poor customer service, even poorer value.

I can only echo other reviews - thetrainline is fine when things run smoothly, but if you make a mistake, need to change a booking or apply for a refund, you're stuffed! Post sales support is as bad as any I have experienced and refund processing appallingly slow. And beware - if you amend a booking, you don't simply get ... Read the complete review

What appalling customer service! I have to echo other reviews here in stating that the trainline.com is great if everything goes smoothly but as soon as something does not, you can almost give up hope of obtaining a refund, despite their T&C's. At the start of January, my bank card was stolen and so I was unable to collect a ... Read the complete review

The trainline is a pretty user friendly site to find and book tickets I generally don't have a problem with it HOWEVER , NEVER EVER make a mistake as you will have to deal with the Post Sales Support team consisting of an offshore call centre where the interaction is clearly scripted. If it gets too complicated for them - look forward ... Read the complete review

The Trainline is one of those simple websites that does just what you want it to do. I remember an old site I used to use for buying all my rail tickets online, but since I've moved over to The Trainline for it's ease of use and no hassle. Firstly I'd like to add that this site for the new users is one of the best, you don't have to ... Read the complete review

The trainline is one of the booking agents that you can get tickets for nationwide trains. They charge a booking fee however, which sites like national express dont. However if you go through quidco I think you can get the booking fee back and a little bit more. Just search for the train that you want, with a time, and if you have a ... Read the complete review

I'm not a frequent rail traveller, but probably use the train two or three times a year for a variety of reasons. I like the fact that I don't have to sit and stress in traffic jams, and I can read my book and "switch off" a bit as I travel to my chosen destination. In the "old" days, buying a ticket for a train ... Read the complete review

I recently used the trainline.com to purchase some train tickets for a weekend trip. I went through this site as opposed to the main National rail one, as at the time they had an offer of £5 off any tickets over £20. Now they do charge £1 for booking but this still saved me £4 and they find the cheapest tickets. I found the ... Read the complete review

Owning a business in London means that I have to travel their quite often, and instead of taking the car (which takes soo long), I go my train, and am always on the look out for cheaper tickets. This company has given me the most appalling customer service I have ever experienced.
