“ The Tutor Pages was launched to bring together UK tutors and students in a quality low-cost environment. „
The tutor pages is a free site where teachers of all kinds can upload their details in order to get advertising and get pupils.
This is for teachers of academic subjects, such as maths, english or history. The other part of the site is music. There are teachers offering private music lessons on almost every instrument, and there are also teachers offering music theory lessons. If you want to learn an instrument then you should be able to find a teacher in your area.
I found this site on google, they were offering a years free membership. They also offered me a further 3 months for reviewing them on helphound.com. I did review them and my membership was extended.
If you are a teacher, you have to make a profile, this includes a way that the pupils can contact you, the website hides your email but they can click through to send you a message.
The profile also includes a short interview where you write down your answers such as how much do you charge, what are your qualifications. Most people on there put a lot of detail, and include a picture as this draws people in more than just a blank box.
The site tells you how many people have viewed your profile per month, on mine theres usually about 20 people a month, however its not effective as I have had no replies in the advert being there for almost a year.
I have changed my profile answers a few times but still no pupils.
I would not bother with this site unless you are in London as those are the teachers that seem to get the most interest.
