Advantages: Can be rewarding

Disadvantages: Rewards can be stingy

In terms of review/survey sites, there are only a few that raise themselves above the rest and make an announcement of quality. dooyoo, ciao and lightspeed are some of my favourites, and I also use Toluna quite a lot. As with any survey site, it's not a get rich quick site, and you would have to put a lot fo time and effort into to to get anywhere anyway.

Toluna is a site that offers surveys and reviews, although their review system doesn't really get you any money as such, and it is mainly through the transferral of points that you get your rewards. The site will e-mail you surveys inviting you to take part, and the reward can be anywhere from around 1000 points to 10,000 or so. If you reach 60,000 points, you can transfer it for a £10 amazon voucher, and there are other prizes, too.

In comparison to other survey sites, Toluna probably ranks at an average level. The surveys can be quite long and tedious, and seem to have rewards that don't seem ample for the time and effort put in, but you do get the odd review which is enjoyable and is value for money, something which you would never really get from many other survey sites.

You can amass points in other ways, but these are more minimal. Toluna gives you a personal profile, in which you have a number of 'interest' surveys, asking you questions about your likes and dislikes, transport, health, etc. Complete each survey for 300 points, and collect 2000 points for completing them all. There are about a dozen of them. You can also answer short multiple choice surveys worth 15 points each.

The points do amass, but, as you can be screened out of some of the surveys, there is no sure way of getting the full points for every survey you get sent, and the other ways of getting points are easily exhausted. I think the way to look at it is to do a survey every now and then, not get annoyed if you get screened out, and not look at it as a solid source of vouchers. I do recommend using Toluna, as long as you take the right attitude with it and don't hope for too much.

Summary: Decent survey site
