Here’s the definitive site for computer people. I love this site to bits. It is probably one of the best sites I have ever seen for getting good, well informed advice on all things computer related and more- much more. The site was launched in 1996 by one Dr. Thomas Pabst, and has recently been recognised as having over 30 million hits since it’s conception, getting over a million reads from users each month. Oooh How I wish I could get that on dooyoo :-) ) The site is universally recognised as being the best source for independent editorial reviews of computer hardware. The main man ( Big Tam ) leads a team of ...  Read the complete review

Originally set up by Thomas Pabst, tomshardware.com has been giving out details on the latest and greatest in computer hardware for over four years. It was one of the first hardware sites that I ever came across, and it has been in my favourites list ever since. The site is laid out much in the style of a newspaper, with four columns, comprising a site index, articles listing (with the latest being at the top), latest news on the internet and then a column entitled columns, which has a few editorials. What makes this site stand out from the other hardware sites, is that Tom doesn't stick to the usual suspects (processors, motherboards, graphics ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review tomshardware.com: Dr. Hardware (246 words)

There are quite a lot of sites that try to be like Toms Hardware (Indeed, they may have come before them – an expert on Hardware site chronology I am not!) but for me nothing comes close. Whatever the item being reviewed, there are always plenty of performance figures to back up whatever the good doctor decides to recommend. Usually I don’t spend too much time looking at the figures, I prefer the section discussing the various features of the item being reviewed and the conclusion. There’s also a news section, which is a collection of links to news sites (Often The Register, not that that bothers me – I like The Register), each news item has a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review tomshardware.com: THE BEST COMPUTER SITE (172 words)
by - written on 07/07/00 (Somewhat useful, 46 readings)

www.Tomshardware.com Is the best site ever. This man single handedly cuases peple like intel/AMD/3DFx and others to quake in thier feets. You see this dude is a genious. when people bring out there latest products he reviews them and if its bad, it REALLY effects there business, so much that i recall once many companies started to threaten him. Many leading magazines also used to steal his artical and print them off as thiers. the main thing is when a new hardware comes out, cutting edge or what, this man takes it apart and tries to review it in an unbiased way, THEN he tries to over clock it. He's clocked everything from CPU's to Graphics ...  Read the complete review
