Travelex is the world's largest foreign exchange retailer. They have outlets in most airports/ports and tourist destinations. I have used Travelex on several occasions at Heathrow and Newcastle. I always search to see who has the best rates and Travelex always come up on top, you can order them online and then pick them up at the airport - I prefer this over getting the posted to me as my post isn't the most reliable. They do offer free next day home delivery though if you spend over £500. Travelex is a money exchange company that has bureaux de change in most airports and ports in the UK, and in many city centres. Like most companies nowadays, they also have a website to advertise their services. What I didn't realise until recently though, is that they also allow you to book foreign currency from their website. Many currency exchange sites will allow you do that, and get the cash posted to you at home or at work. Travelex doesn't offer delivery, but does allow you to pre-book currency to be collected from the airport from which you are travelling. The advantage to the customer is that you get a better deal. Today's ...  Read the complete review

I had a very bad experince at Travelex , Royal National , London . The guy at the till Mr.Iffi was pocketing a £3 pounds commision without informing anyone from my group for himself, did not give any receipt , and gave the wrong change back on currency that we converted .. During our entire stay he short changed everyone , alas we only realised all this later . Lucky guy must be making big £££ since no one else was in that booth . Very very dissapointment and have taken up this matter with the met police and lodged a complain with the branch manager also . As i expected still awaiting feedback , and judging by the type of people who could employe and leave a ...  Read the complete review

I used the Travelex website to book my foreign currency when I went to Germany in April. The internet site was very easy to use and told you everything you needed to know. You could book everything from the currency itself, to global phone cards and the special buy back service that travelex offer to buy back unused foreign currency at the same rate you paid for it. The rates were the best out of all those that I'd checked, and there was no commission to pay either. The buy back service was £2.50, but I considered this to be worthwhile as if the rate changed against us, then we'd lose more than this selling our unused currency back. The only ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review travelex.co.uk: Good foreign exchange provider-Travelex (147 words)

Travelex moneychanger does offer an interesting scheme. Under the scheme, when you buy a large amount of a foreign currency from Travelex and eventually you found out that you have considerable left over amount after touring, you can sell back the currency to Travelex at the same rate you bought from Travelex. In other words, you lose nothing even eventually you have to sell back the extra foreign currency to the original moneychanger. However, you need to pay a charge for the scheme. I did it in 1999 and the charge in that year was 2.50 pound. If you want to purchase the scheme for 2 foreign currencies, then you have to pay 5 pound. Therefore, the best way is to have ...  Read the complete review
