Travelzoo.com is a wonderful travel website which take the best deals from all the travel/hotel/air/holiday companies from all over the web and put them on one easy to use website! They have everything from last minute holidays to ones 8months in advance, hotels and flights or jsut hotels within the uk and all around the world.
They send you an email every week with the top 20 deals once you sign up and join. There are always some little gems and i find its the cheapest holiday site around!
Ive used this site many times for booking holidays and i always find it very easy to use and the staff very helpfull if i need to ring them. Ive never had a problem with the company and always pass the website on to friends and family!!i always check the website first as its 99.9% to be the best price! really worth looking at if you are planning a trip anywhere!
Travelzoo is a very good travel site, unlike Expedia or Lastminute.com, this is a small site that concentrates on deals rather than website design.
How does it Look?
The site is a pretty basic design, the front page has links to the following:
Hotel Deals (These are differentiated by region)
Holiday Deals (Differentiated by type)
Entertainment Events (Shows/Entertainment)
Last Minute Travel
Regional Flights in the UK
Also on the front page is a link to the top 20 deals of the week.
What is different about this site:
For me this site is different because the top 20 deals are generally pretty amazing value, the deals seem to pick out the very best deals on the net and offer them to readers. All of the other sections are a mix of the very best deals too and offer something a bit different for readers.
The site looks ugly but this is all about content over style. Deals today include a 14 day holiday in Kenya for £349 as well as some excellent hotel deals in the UK.
Have you used them:
I have used them, the site is really a link to the best deals on other sites, so Travelzoo itself is more of a broker, but i've booked cheap deals without any problems and would definitely recommend the deals to others.
The site offers a weekly email which gives you as a member first viewing of the top 20 deals, as some of these are excellent value they can only be available for short periods therefore the weekly email is of great interest to people wishing for a great deal.
Overall this is an interesting site, it looks ugly and functional at best but it offers some amazing details and some pretty good ones, it is for serious travellers, people who want a good deal rather than a site that looks pretty.
My friend's mum introduced me to this website and I have since recommended it to members of my family and friendship group.
The people behind this website claim to trawl the internet to get the best hotel and holiday deals. You can sign up for the weekly bulletin on this website, that means that you will receive the website's top 20 deals each week.
I have never booked a deal on the website itself, I have always spoken to an adviser on the telephone. However I have always been happy with the service I've received and when I have called up for more information on a particular deal I have never been hounded into making a booking by pushy advisers.
The site is easy to navigate and if you click on a particular offer then you will recieve a detailed synopsis.
I think this website is great for finding you deals in places you wouldn't usually consider visiting. My friend's parent have gone to St Lucia, my aunt has been to Iceland and I have been to Poland thanks to cracking deals picked up on this website.
Me and my partner paid £140 for flights and three night in a 3* hotel in Poland, that was a mega saving on what we would have paid if we'd booked it all ourselves. The hotel wasn't great, but for the price we paid it was well worth it.
During recession we are all finding it more and more difficult to get away, but if you are looking for a holiday bargain then you should definitely sign up for the travel zoo newsletter.
I love Travelzoo. I've been getting the emails for quite a long time now and have booked some great trips through it.
You sign up for free to get their weekly email. It contains their Top 20 and this can anything from an Antartic cruise to cheap trains tickets to Manchester.
There is often a mix of hotels (uk and abroad), spa breaks, flight deals, leisure experiences (eg. theatre tickets etc), package trips etc etc
It is all excellent value and although some deals are widely advertised (eg. BA flight sale) others are not (eg. Barcelona boutique hotel deal).
Therefore you easily find some amazing bargains.
I've booked a few things through them, a wonderful spa break in the Southport area for £89 each which was a great deal and such a good experience. A night in St Martins Lane hotel in London, weekend break to Iceland and have just booked a great trip to Cornwall including dinner at Jamie Oliver Fifteen.
Friends of mine booked an all-inclusive Turkey holiday though Travelzoo and it was such a bargain and they had a great time. I think next Summer my friend and I will wait and see what comes up on Travelzoo rather than booking in advance as we are sure to get a great deal.
They don't overload you with spam, the email is short and to the point. It is easy to scan for interesting offers, if the headline catches your eye, click on the link for more info and the offer code or link to book.
Every so often they will send you a 'breaking news' alert of a good deal but these are few and far between.
Travelzoo is a very good travel website, it sends out a weekly email listing their top 20 deals of the week, which at times can be incredibly disparate and excellent value, providing links to the deals on their website.
Whats good about the site:
The website itself has a decent selection of special offers for travel, it includes details on flights, hotels, cruises, holidays in the UK and regionally around the world, there are sections for last minute deals and the offers are really good and great value.
The site has a good reputation for special offers which I really rate and i've booked two or three times through them where they give you links to the relevant offer without issue.
Whats Not so great about the site:
Its navigation is fairly average, the site itself doesn't look particularly exciting either, its a basic site and its all about the deals really.
There are 16 Travelzoo sites worldwide with one for American readers, another for French and even one for Brazilian readers. There isn't an endless range of deals but the ones that are there are superb and well worth a look.
Overall its a decent site thats well worth a look as it has offers you'll never find on Expedia or Lastminute.com, there are some great options so before booking a trip check it out.
Travelzoo is an informative website offering a pick of bargains on a weekly basis.
Travelzoo send round a weekly email which alerts you to the "best" 20 deals on the web, including UK breaks, and international holidays.
If you are looking for a last minute break or something non specific then travelzoo is really useful. If you have something specific in mind then it won't be useful, so travelzoo is one for the traveller who wants a random bargain, and who is flexible about dates and location.
As well as the weekly emails the site itself has other deals from the web.
I've had a 5* ½ board holiday to Egypt for £200 and 5* English hotel breaks in London for as little as £40. I'd definitely recommend it.
I'd also recommend checking the holidays on Trip advisor to ensure it is actually a good deal.
Also it's great if you have found a tour operator that will 'match any deal'.
Enjoy booking cheap holidays!
Travel Zoo is a great website for those looking for bargain holidays, it collects together the cheapest deals from around the web and puts them up on their website and also sends you a weekly e-mail about the current offers (optional)
You can occasionally find unbelievable bargains on here, I remember a 99 pound flight (one way) to Australia being one of the examples.
Apart from the Top 20 deals, this website also has a search engine where you can find the cheapest flights between two locations, car hire, last minute deals, cheap flights around the world, cruise specials and cheap ferry offers, all in holidays, hotel & villa deals and the latest addition which shows shows, tickets and tours such as safari's, operas and well known festivals.
This website will keep you browsing for several hours and is a must if you are looking to book a cheap holiday on the net, it's the best value will find in package deals and the like and I highly recommend to anyone planning to go away this year!
This website is easy to use and not a complete hassle like Expedia.
