Trocamania was aimed at transforming the standard online shopping rewards points model to the latin american world. Unfortunately it launched in the heady days of the internet bubble and so was forced to compete in a loss making environment giving out free rewards for nothing. Equally unfortunately they failed to get many big name rewards partners - for example for airline miles they mainly had Latinpass which itself was in a long cycle of decline. Over its life the minimum redemption for rewards continued to rise and offers for free miles from daily polls etc declined. They did pay out for rewards such as Marriott points etc but clearly there just wasn't enough revenue to keep them going. When they finally closed their doors it was barely noticed as most people had long since deserted them. I managed to get some Marriott points from them for doing free surveys etc but noticed that their customer service was lousy....
TrocaMania is yet another web rewards site that offers you points (in this case Trocas) for visiting websites, answering surveys, reading e-mails, registering with companies and shopping at selected merchants. The concept is very similar to MyPoints and Ipoints. This company is based in Latin America but is open to International members. I am going to approach this site much in the same was as I did my MyPoints opinion, in that I will take the case on joining this company for the sake of the free points that one could earn i.e. Without actually purchasing anything. As it is since this site is based in Latin America, the shopping option is one that is not feasible to us in any case since all the companies are based either in the United States or in Latin America. Earning possibilities ------------------------ 1) Registration – Complete the registration and you will earn 25 Trocas. 2) Complete your profile and earn another 25 Trocas 3) Telling Friends – For every friend you recommend you will earn 50 Trocas. You can refer upto a maximum of 10 friends per month ie. A maximum of 500 Trocas can be earned in this way. 4) Taking Surveys – No opportunity exists at present. 5) Online activities – Presently there are no earning possibilities in this section. A couple of months ago there were two companies listed here and you could earn 5 Trocas for visiting there website. This offer was only good once a year. I have been with TrocaMania for about three months now and have earned a total of 101 Trocas. Out of this total of 101, I got 50 just when I joined the site. So in three months I earned a total of 51 Trocas. This is equivalent to approx one pound. For International users the most feasible way to claim your rewards would be by an Amazon Gift Voucher. You need a minimum of 4,167 Trocas to get a US$50.00 Gift Certificate. I am quite sure that w hen TrocaMania started the earning opportunities were a lot more and were more frequent. Also the “Taking Surveys” and “Online Activities” features were active. However due to the universal decrease in Online trade these companies are the first to feel the brunt. If you’ve got the time and patience then try them out but my personal view is to just forget it. It’s just not worth it. I am sure that within a short time this company will eventually fold up in much the same way as Beenz, Web Rewards etc. Further to achieve the total of 4,167 Trocas will take years unless the earning opportunities increase or you are purchasing products or services through there site. So give this one a miss everyone.
Troco Points are a bit like Beenz. You earn 25 for joining up, more for buying products, visiting selected sites once every 30 days and 5 a day for answering a survey question and receiving product emails . Also you can refer your friends as well. Trocomania has less ways of earning currency than Beenz does. The points can be earned world-wide. 85 Trocas a worth around $1 and you get 75 Trocas for referring friends. Hopefully this site will get better and have more ways of earning Trocas. After three weeks I had 320 Trocas.
My opinion on trocamania.com. Hmm... Well, it's not very high. In fact, I think dooyoo had better remove it from "online perks" to "online jerks" as basically, these tricksters (I'd prefer something stronger myself) have ripped off many people from around the world - and are continuing to do so. What started off as a decent way of earning a few bob off the net turned sour at the beginning of the year when, by constantly changing the rules without informing anyone at all, trocamania.com effectively stole the earnings from all it's members. One could earn "trocas" (their online currency) by giving them your personal details for marketing purposes, visiting websites in their little collection - a glorified pay-per-click scheme where trocamania.com receive a payment each time someone visits the site - the user generally received a small amount of troacas once every tirty days for doing so. There was a daily question one could also earn from and if you missed any, you could catch up on them at a later date. Like many schemes, it was a way to encourage you to spend money with their partners, so that you would earn trocas for buying things online via their sites. The usual thing of earning more trocas for referring other users was there as well. Which wasn't a bad little set up. One by one, the partners left and then the opportunities to earn vastly decreased - it is now only possible to earn one trocas every thirty days for visiting a site called "cnet". Previously, the only reward worth going for were amazon.com and cdnow.com online gift certificates - $10.00 would cost 833 trocas. Without letting anyone know, they went up to a minimum payout of five times that amount. Many users - myself included - thought we had our rewards in sight but due to the outright dishonesty of trocamania.com, we have been "e-mugged" by an online theif. B*****ds.
It's no doubt that rewards programs have been given a bad name overall, wether the criticism be that they don't pay, they don't credit your account, there's hardly any offers, you can only earn a lot by shopping through them or that they don't respond to your emails - they are all the same aren't they? Unfortunately the answer is yes, I've had experiences with many rewards programs on the net and have only found disappointment, trocamania.com with their 'troca' currency are no different. It's free to signup with trocamania and easy, you can begin earning trocas immediately. You can do this by visiting websites, shopping online, filling out a survey or just referring friends. You will usually earn between one and three trocas for visiting one of trocamania's partner sites but you can only do a paid visit to each one in any thirty day period. As for the survey section there is only one survey, this is the trocamania survey that you have the opportunity to complete when signing up. Members can earn fifty trocas for people they refer that successfully register, the trocas earned here are pending for ten days then they show up as 'available to spend' in your account. The way to earn most trocas by far is shopping online, this is the same with most rewards programs. There's over a hundred merchants to choose from with many top brand names such as Amazon.com. If your thinking of joining trocamania to earn good rewards without spending anything then you'll be waiting a while, high earning opportunities are rare and will usually cost you. Members can earn five trocas a day for completing a task on the trocamania.com frontpage, this is usually a question or a short poll on current events. Trocamania rewards are impressive, 833 trocas will buy you a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate. You can buy subscriptions to magazines, movie tickets, an online premi um palm reading or even a day out at a popular theme park. At the moment there are only four websites you can visit to earn trocas and there's a 500 troca limit to the amount you can earn by referring friends per month. Remember you must be 18 to join the program and it's based in Latin America - most of the rewards are for US based online merchants. I don't recommend trocamania - ways to earn trocas are limited, the methods available are limited and there is no consistency about the program.
Before I tell you why I have an inclination that this site is a con, I'll explain what the site is all about. Unlike some other loyality scheme sites on the net, trocamania seems to have plenty of opportunities to gain rewards: - You can earn "trocass' by - - Surfing websites, by clicking on links and visiting them; you can visit the same site each month once and get trocas each time - normally you'll earn 1 - 5 trocas depending on which site you visit. - Answering short questions called troca questions, a new one every few days - great thing about this is if you havent visited in a while you can still answer the questions you missed and still get points for it. You get 5 points for answering the current question and 2 points for each question you've missed. - Referring friends to the site - Purchasing/signing up for items/offers on the net - There's also a survey section which hasnt become operational yet. You can redeem the trocias earned on gifts/vouchers etc picked from tons of companies. Okay, now to my doubts... after gaining enough trocas for a 10USD Amazon gift voucher (800 trocas) - this option disappeared within days and I now have to save enough trocas for a 50USD voucher! Coincidence? Hmm In addition to this, I no longer have the option to answer the Troca questions - there is no option to do so under 'earn' anymore, meaning I will find it very difficult to gain trocas unless I purchase items from sites! I am very suspicious indeed about this and it would be interesting to know if this has happened to anyone else!
I don't think we'll be seeing "Trocamania" around much longer when one considers the recent changes to the site and program. Both my sons joined this program (they canceled mine persumably because one of my sons still lives with us although I couldn't see anything to state that it was only one per household). They earned a few amazon vouchers between them and all was well - until the run upto Chrismas, when the amount of partners decreased (there are only a few members where one can earn and unless you are a regular customer of one of their partners, trocamania isn't worth the trouble). there was the chance to earn trocas for answering a daily question, which was marketing information and trends, which has now been withdrawn. Just prior to the withrawal, the amounts sited was halved and were done away with alltogether around the new year. My sons were not too far off with getting other rewards but with the current set up, it would be more profitable leaving the computer switched off!
I have tried out a lot of these schemes over the last few years - as I had both the free time and free internet access. Free internet has become very common in the UK nowadays and more and more people are starting to get paid as they surf and sign up to online loyalty schemes. Are they worth it? I hear you ask! This scheme is ok. You can earn "trocas" by visiting wbesites, answering surveys and quizes and most importantly refering people. You can earn lots of trocas very quickly by joining and filling in new member surveys but then you slow dow drastically! You can still earn the daily quiz trocas and by refering people but this can be a slow process. Beenz has the advantage of economies of scale! It entered market first and there are therefore more beenz and more places to earn beenz on the net. My advice is do not get sucked in! Pick the one you think is best and devote your time to that one. Unless ofcourse you have plenty of time, in which case do ALL of them! This one is too time consuming and needs to grow seriously before I will use it regularly! Nice idea though but i can't earn fast enough to keep my attention. Having said that, however, referals are good earners! if you have loads of firend to sign up then this could be good for you
Another reward site this one offers you trocas. You can collect them in a few different ways then redeem them for vouchers from a few different outlets or for magazine subscriptions, flight miles. The participating companies aren’t overly impressive but there’s always good old Amazon.com, which seems to appear in almost every reward scheme! The earn rate is very slow unless you shop an awful lot over the internet, if you do you will earn them in a cash back sort of fashion. The normal ratio being between 5 and 15 trocas per $1 spent although many offer less than that going as low as 1 per $ but about half are only available to US users. If like me you are not interested in that then you will need to earn them the hard way by visiting different sites either every 10 days, 15 days or 30 days where you will earn between 1-4 trocas at a time. Unfortunately since I origionally wrote this opinion these have depleated drastically to only 9 sites. The daily question that used to be there is gone and if you are new you can earn a lot by answering a set of survey questions (multiple choice type) and updating your profile. You can also earn from referring friends however they have gone down from the bonus 150 to only a meagre 50 per friend. There are troca cards that you can pick up from universities, stores etc but I very much doubt if this applies to the UK (sigh!). There were more promised means of earning which have now disappeared without ever coming into effect. The exchange rate which was quite good as you could cash out at $10 for certain vouchers has gone to pot too. You now need a minimum of $50 to cash out which with the recent reduction in earning potential is just diabolical. It amazes me how this schemes which are nothing more than scams are legal. You would need in excess of 70 referrals to be able to cash out. REDICULOUS. For vouchers the exchange rate is as follows: < br> 4167 trocas = $50 6250 trocas = $75 8333 trocas = $100 For magazines you will need to look your choice up although don’t expect anything less than around 2000 going up to 5000+ trocas for 12 months worth. Another thing worth noting is that not all the offers are open to residents outside of the US, to check which are or aren’t available click the icon on the top right corner of the ‘all merchants’ screen. I do find it a shame that you don’t get extra reward for you trocas as the exchange total increases. I e-mailed them with my concerns but was not lucky enough to be graced with a reply. My recommendation is to steer clear of this scam, it will take you a life time to earn and if you want to shop for rewards there are far better schemes than this. Needless to say I am very annoyed and disappointed as yet another scheme becomes a waste of time.
**UPDATE** Unfortunately the survey has gone :( Hopefully we will get a new daily reward soon. ****** This points scheme is up there with the best, beenz, webrewards etc. To get trocas, the main way is to go to the site www.trocamania.com , and answer a short survey question, (multiple choice) , to earn five trocas. Once you have collected enough, these are excahngeable for a number of items, like Amazon gift certificates. I usually login daily to collect these, as they are very easy to obtain. If you use the internet daily, and want to earn high rewards, this is the points scheme for you. If you use the net occassionally, and you want quick rewards, try beenz.com Basically, try it out. rob :P
Unlike a lot of the so-called reward schemes on the 'net, "TrocaMania" is one of those schemes that actually pay out. Okay, you won't earn enough to give up your day job but apart from the initial registration, the member does not have to keep filling out registrations which inevitably result in a plethora of junk and spam mail. The "Troca" site itself has been constructed in (I suppose) a "friendly" and informal way and, although small in size, deserves to be a sucess as they have the right formula for a reward program - if you purchase on line with their partners, then you can earn quite a bit. However, for the casual 'net surfer, this is an ideal addition to the likes of the bigger players (such as beenz.com) as both programs offer online gift certificates to the likes of amazon.com so it's worth doing. Well, that's what I thought back when I first wrote this opinion. Since then, there have been a number of major changes at trocamania.com. 1. Customer care is now almost non-existant. If you do get a reply, not only will it be unhelpful but it will be rare that the reply will be received in the same callender month. 2. Little or no trocas can be obtained. If you are in the US, you might get trocas if you buysomething on their links but apart from that, you've got little or no chance of getting anything from them. The "daily troca question" got axed at the beginning of 2001 and since then, the trocas received from visitng websites has been drastically reduced, both in the number of partners and the quantity of trocas themselves. As these sites are set up as a glorified "click through" (when the image is clicked to go to the site, trocamania still get a payment per visitor, even if the trocas are not awarded for whatever reason. 3. Referal trocas have been cut severely as have the 2nd level referals. That has been cut totally. <br> 4. Surveys and questionaires have been done away with as well, even less to get excited about. As the only rewards of any use to UK based users of the trocas site were vouchers for amazon.com and CDNOW and the minimum redemption is 833 trocas for a $10.00 online gift certificate, I would guess that it would take several years to get anything from them now. I'm only continuing as I am close to getting a voucher then it will hasta la vista, trocas. It's a shame the way it's gone as I found trocas was one of the better and most honest of the online reward schemes.
Trocamania is a reward scheme, it gives you trocas for doing certain things. You earn Trocas by surfing web sites Answering special troca questions Doing surveys Referring friends Spending at certain web sites Placing a banner on your web site The amount of trocas earned varies bit, every day you get 5 trocas for answering a daily question. New partners offer trocas and it is one of the easiest reward schemes I have done. The potential is not that great, and while you can earn in the UK the redemption sites are all American. It is good if you want amazon vouchers, I just received a $10 voucher and it only took a month, saying that it only takes a few minutes to do each day. It' s not like beenz were you go hunting on the various web sites, all the trocas are earned on the troca web site, making it really simple. One of the biggest ways to earn is referring you get 75 trocas for referring each friend. A $10 amazon.com voucher cost 833 trocas so it really depends on what you are looking for, it may be okay for some but not for others.
Troca's are one of the best organised and worthwhile points programs after Beenz. You can earn them from visiting a number of sites, but you are only allowed to do this once a month. you can also earn daily points from visiting the site. By my calculation you can earn about $3 a month from the scheme currently. This is not a lot but it is about the same rate that you can earn from Etour or Minrak. It is a good scheme but not on a level with beenz which is the king of all points schemes
If your bored of trying to find beenz or webrewards then you could try trocamania. The details of the program are as follows: Trocamania A reward program where you earn points from shopping, receiving emails, doing surveys, referring friends and visiting websites. It is open to UK residents. You receive 25 trocas on sign-up and 50 trocas on completion of your profile. Plus 75 Trocas for every friend you refer that activates an account with TrocaMania plus 40 Trocas for every friend referred by your friends when they activate an account with TrocaMania, up to the 5th level. The referral ackage is quite good, so if youve got a website or lots of friends then you could earn lots from referrals. Worth joining.
Trocamania is a Latin American based rewards scheme, that is "available internationally" as they say. Points, or "trocas" are awarded for visiting certain sites, shopping at selected merchants etc. Basics; there are around a dozen links on the websurfing page that you can click for around 40 or so trocas a month, log on each day to answer a simple question and get another 5 trocas. Trocas can be cashed in for gift certificates for CDNow, Amazon.com and the like. (1250 trocas gets you $15) Number one tip, from the websurfing page you can open each link in a new window and kill it as soon as you see the "Congratulations you have just won x trocas", you'll get the points. Overall, xmillion likes this one. Logging on each day and answering the daily troca question for 5 points only takes a couple of minutes. Xmillion calculates this to be worth 6 cents and as a patient man is quite happy to let the cents accumulate until the time has come to cash in and get some more free CDs. Qualification; like all reward schemes, only worth doing if the rewards offered include something that you want. As with other non UK schemes your choice is necesserily limited to ecertificates to online merchants.
