Advantages: Well laid-out, good search facility.

Disadvantages: Too much software avaiable, so hard to choose what you want to download.

I don't mean that in a negative way, but if you are anything like me you'll download lots of stuff and most of it you'll never use!

However, Tucows is a very useful site. It has a directory style interface similar to the likes of yahoo, but all the categories are for software avaiable for download. Some of it is freeware and some shareware, but all avaiable for download nnow.

I find it most useful for finding software for my PDA, I find very few of these 'downloads' sites cater for PDA software, but Tucows does make good allowances for this cause.

It has a good search facility and the content is updated on a regular basis. You can find all kinds of software ranging from Utilities to tweak your system through to Games to play online.

If you haven't tried using Tucows for downloading yet, give it a try. You'll be able to find most of the software you are looking for very easily. Their servers are reliable too, so you won't have to wait longer than normal for the software to download.
